I dial phones by touching the number pad without looking at it...

With a touch screen phone... I'm not sure if I'm able to do that.

Anyway, it looks sweet though. So Apple, how about a new iPod without the phone feature eh? I'll hit that immediately.

i think people should be fined for driving while talking on a cellphone without the use of a handsfree headset...

I so agree with you there azian. I know sometimes I feel like i have to when my gf texts me, which I just pull over on the side of the road.

As for the phone, it looks sexy. I just wish I was on Cingular :-(

All those features, and not 3G compatible? Lame.

I think steeve jobs is the king of pride and overhype. How is that phone going ro revolutionize or re-invent the cell phone market..with its padless dialer? They are so overconfident and all their ads reeks to my nose.

i don't like stuff like this. you know that there wasn't an overwhelming customer request for a touch-screen device that tries to do everything...

it was just a bunch of the "geniuses" at apple sitting around trying to come up with new ways to make money off people, and one of them said "hey, wouldn't it be great if....."

Well i was reading the paper today
and it said that the phone was 499.00
with a new two year plan.
This means, it would be ridiculously
expensive if you just want to purchase
the phone without getting a new plan.
I wish it was 499 for the phone because
i just got a new two year plan with
Cingular....

sigh...

In Walnut / City of Industry where all these big "Taiwanese" brand manufacturers located, you can see truck drivers driving around talking on their Nextel phone..

iphones are already being 'pre sold' on e-bay even before they're released for about a grand.

i wouldn't even bother to think about this phone for at least another year, due to all the bugs it's inevitably bound to have. never, ever invest your money in 1st generation hardware. you'll be disappointed and basically be a second round beta tester for the company.

take a look at the iPod when it first came out, now look at it. it's improved 10x due to customer feedback & heavy usage. the same will be true with this phone.

cisco is suing them for the rights to the name, so who knows what it may be called when it does hit the street. i want one but i'm not going to spend $500 to be a beta tester for apple.

Specially Apple. Usually they'll either patch the bugs, or they'll come out with a 2nd generation faster than you know.

The FOUR gig version is $499. If you want 8 gigs, that bumps the price up to $599

when it comes out i'll be able to hook you guys up for cheaper.

^ sounds good. despite all this, i'd still be willing to blow $499 or $599 on this. let us all know when/if you get these in..
