I doubt the GTs having a liner is due to the 400cc extra displacement of the 5S. It's more likely becuase of the orientation of the GT's engine which puts the exhaust manifold facing more toward the hood if anything. Just imo, of course.

Mine was torn when I purchased the car so I took it off. Few years, no problems... I see steam coming off the hood on rainy days but thats it.

In the UK the ST doesn't have it and the GT does same as you guys are seeing.
I have removed mine and if my highly strung 3SGE doesn't affect the paint then you should be OK. The GT4 guys in the UK remove it as well with no problems. Al |

Al Well, mine has been off now for about a week and no immediate difference noticed. I'm sure that it would take some time to fade if in fact it does, so i'll keep an eye on it. But from everyone's input, i don't think I'll have to worry about it anytime soon. BTW Al, nice care and welcome to 6GC! -------------------- "Remember, amateurs built the ark and professionals built the Titanic. But revolutionaries built the Celica!"- Me |
