Thanks for the nice comments everyone. I have some more pics that I haven't uploaded yet, I'll add them tomorrow. I've road tested the car and it runs great! I just needs to go to the exhaust shop and get a couple of custom a/c lines installed.

Actually you should just ship it over here, it's not all that expensive.

-Doc

It must be really nice to have such passion about what you do... or am I assuming too much? It looks like you really enjoy your work.

No you're pretty much right, I actually loose sight of that from too much stress, which is a mistake. I DID get into this because I love doing swaps and tuning engines, and sometimes I forget that! smile.gif

In fact, that's probably 1/2 the reason I post this stuff up, because showing my work and getting feedback on it often inspires me to keep it up.

-Doc

Can i get 1/2 off the price of the finishing work on mine if i ship it to ya and just keep on giving you wonderful feedback? hehehe laugh.gif

well i thought i'd give it a try.But you have inspired me once again to get under the hood of my car and get my engine going. i just got to get hold of a few friends and a few tools and you should be expecting alot of messages from me when i get everything set.

Heheh alright.

Well the car went home today after a few road tests and a dyno run. It feels very strong and smooth, definetely a worthy swap. When the owner gets home I'm sure he'll post up his impressions.

I'm not going to release the dyno numbers on THIS swap, for two reasons. One, it's up to the owner to do that, and two, there was a hole in the intercooler that he gave me which was causing a boost (and vacuum) leak, and so he wasn't running nearly the amount of boost that he should have been, so the numbers were a little low.

However, I will tell you that another swap I did, same engine, but into a Corolla, was dynoed the same day. Stock besides an SS Autocrap header and a front-mount intercooler, it made 150whp at 9 psi.

The s/c has no problem filling the intercooler system with boost, however ALL forced induction setups benefit from shorter intercooler piping. One warning I will issue about the 4AGZE though, the throttle plate is the first thing in the intake system, so the WHOLE intercooler system is under vacuum. This presents more than the usual number of chances for vacuum leaks and whatnot.

For driving impressions, it's a much different feeling than the 3SGTE. The the 3S feels okay at first, with a WHOOSH of power coming on around 2500-3000 rpm, and holding fairly well up to redline. The GZE on the other hand has no suddeness to it, it has extremely smooth and linear power from idle on up with a slight drop towards redline (like the 3S). The power is instant and if you don't have good tires, will burn rubber at pretty much any point in the RPM band in first or second gear. It feels a lot like you're driving a car with a pretty big V6 in it.

WH96TE, yeah my partner George does the website and he's not too savvy with his spelling skills. biggrin.gif I pointed that one out to him a while ago but he hasn't gotten to it.

The 4AGZE is marginally heavier than the 7AFE, but it would be interesting to weigh each of them and see what the numbers are. I'll look into it.

Ive been reading gze infos at ae92gts.com for a while. (yrs back) would a rebuild really benefit the engine to create more hp

To get to 200whp I'd probably be looking at a larger supercharger, like the SC14, injectors, piggyback, and some tuning.

Just thought I'd chime in, I'm the other guy w/ a running JDM 4agze into a 6th gen. I dont post a lot anymore these days, at least not here, i spend more of my time on club4ag or just researchin on my own. Congrats on joining the gze community to the owner of the black 6th gen smile.gif

One of these days I'll take some more pictures / video of the car running. I currently have it all apart again to fix some body issues and a few other things. When its back together I'll have upgraded sc'er boost, larger injectors, fmic, and full standalone. I'll keep you guys posted when all that finally goes down smile.gif

Hi my name is Richard, and this was my car and my swap. First I would like to say Dr. Tweak did a very good job. Every thing works from my P/S to my A/C. Very professional work. He gave me a set price for labor and stuck to it even though it took many more hours then what i was charged.

Now to the car. I was very disapointed in the numbers on the dyno which was 130hp 145 ft/t. after drivng it i wasnt so upset it was smooth and quite a bit quiker then my modded 7afe. Although I noticed my boost was max psi at only 7lbs i knew there had to be something wrong. We figured out that it was my intercooler leaking a lil. so hopes went up a lil. on my 9.5 hour drive home i noticed my boost not holding at 7 and it just kept getting weaker adn weaker. After I made it home i checked the belt to the S/C and it was slipping a lot. I tighted it down nice and tight took it for a test drive and WOW

IT WAS A WHOLE NEW CAR BOOSTING AROUND 9.5 10 AND IT SCREAMS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT THEN WHEN IT WAS ON THE DYNO. once i get my new intercooler it should be AWSOME. I WOULD RECOMEND THIS SWAP FOR ANY 7AFE. MY BUDDY HAS A 92 300ZX and it should be a good run wink.gif biggrin.gif If your thinking of swaping a 4agze do it and call Tweak even if he doesnt do it he can help.

Thanks again Tweak

I will try to get videos if i can ever figure out how to post them.
