Hey guys total noob to the forums here. Currently living in Australia and yes i love the fact there is little to no aus celica clubs lol.

I own a 1995 celica sx stock st204R u know the drill, got 2.2L and stuff haha Smile

But yeah i'm faced with a problem, my car is entirely stock only just bought it and seeing as a turbo is out of the question for me i am looking to redo the air flow system of my car from intake to exhaust.

So yeah my problem begins here, what to replace first?

I've been trying to look into the gear my celica has but it's proving difficult so would anyone mind giving me a hand by pointing out where the main bottle necks are in the air system eg the cat converter, the extractor, exhaust, intake etc etc.

But yeah i just don't want to say buy a new cat-back system to find not enough air is being taken in to allow the exhaust to take advantage of the new gear.

Also any relevant sites to buy/research these parts would help me greatly.

Thanks tons for your time guys!!

hey man, I'm no mechanic and therefore cant give you any reliable advice regarding your main question, however I can point you in the direction of a local celica club to suppliment the awesome people here. http://www.ozcelica.com/ is a local club with members all over australia and many events in each state. Check it out

you can start off adding a short ram, or a complete air intake.

for the intake refer to this link please
http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=21648

~for an exhaust~

-please refer here for a performance 5sfe Header
http://www.1supertoyota.com/products/rd10.htm

after the header you will need a mid-pipe which comprises of a Catalytic converter,
for a 2" exhaust get a 53004, for a 2.25" exhaust geta 53005
http://www.car-sound.com/02product/universal/530.asp

follow that up with a nice muffler
http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/shopexd...main&id=769

and take those 3 pieces down to your local exhaust shop and have them bend you either 2" or 2.25" piping to fit and weld
you'll be sounding good, legal and have a lil more go

if you go onto ebay, all of those magnaflow parts can be found for ~$100 +/- a few dollars

In my opinion, you should carefully consider whether the cost of these modifications and extra noise is worth the 5-10 hp you will see. For the vast majority of people, the answer is no.

In your shoes, I would take the money and buy some very nice coilovers, some 17 inch wheels and very sticky tires. The differences in performance will be VERY noticable. The fun-factor in the corners will improve 10 fold.

i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this.

Where in Australia are you?
Maybe some pics of your ride?
As you intake, I've got a K&N panel filter and
am happy with that.
No more defect notices tongue.gif

Hey thx for replies, so glad to find aussies with celica's lol.

But yeah living in Perth btw guys, what sities/shops do u guys get your gear from mostly btw.

About getting new tyres n rims i'm actually in dire need of both seeing as i'm still using my stock rims with tyres balder than well (Insert sexual reference here) lol. Any idea where i can get my hands on some sweet rims and tyres either in perth or on the internet? I think it's probably best to replace them first before i do my intake/exhaust though thank you very much for the info on that.
