Expected U.S. models include a new 3.1 FSI V6 with 260 HP as the sole A5 offering, and a 4.2 FSI V8 with 354 HP found in current A8's for the S5, with 6 speed manual tranny :-) Rumor has sequential manuals in the works and an RS5 varaiant with the RS4's 4.2 420 HP FSI V8, along with stablemate cabriolets and a "spaceback" 5 door on the way.

I thought so too, at first, but the more I looked at it, the more appealing the A5 was... Almost fastbackish, in a way smile.gif

if it weren't for the 3-series, audi would be under no pressure to make this car, presumably to avoid stepping on the entry-level porsches (mostly the cayman).

i'd venture a guess that the a5 is going to be 35-40k and the s5 45-50k.

beautiful car, though. i didn't care for the latest audi design language, but it's grown on me so much that i actually prefer them to the newer bmw cars.

if this thing performs half as well as it looks, bmw will certainly feel the heat.

The thing is that Audi = hotness straight up, but they are not worth the upkeep that goes alone with them. My friends have audis and even though they are nice for early 90's and mid 90's they have way to many issues that need solving. makes me glad i own a celica that has given me 41k miles since i've owned it without any problems beside replacing a stock clutch!

Would i buy an audi if i had money to burn? oh hells yes biggrin.gif

I think Bigfoot is blurry, that's the problem. It's not the photographer's fault. Bigfoot is blurry. And that's extra scary to me, because there's a large, out-of-focus monster roaming the countryside.

A5 looks just like the new BMW 3 series to me. Too much of the same thing! I was all excited to lease a new Evo X, just to realize it's an Audi look-a-like. I guess I will have to stick with the Celica forever. wink.gif

Seen the new RS4 yesterday. Yeap, its a nice one. I'd rather keep my Curren and the GT4 though and wait for the day Toyota wakes up and put something like that in the market i.e. IS-F
