As some of you know, I've been cleaning up my bay. This Civic's bay puts mine to shame...so clean.

And if you go to http://www.whipfactory.com/ there's a short video of the car accelerating on the highway...it's pretty fast, especially for a N/A Civic. Makes me want to buy an EF hatch and throw a K20 into it. tongue.gif

Now imagine if that K20 was boosted. Traction would be horrible. That engine bay is pretty f'n amazing. IMO the valve cover needs to get powder coated.

if I'm not mistaking those engines have not much low end torque, so not much of traccion issues.

that's what I think, could be wrong

damn! thats pretty nice. must not be driven much to have an engine bay thats been kept THAT clean. It would be pretty fun to get a little civic and put a K20 in it. although, pretty much anyone who works on thier civics put a K20 in them, so its not really original..lol.. still nice tho

Yeah K20's are getting stuffed in a lot of civics now. It puts out way mroe power then the B18s. Trust me a boosted k20 will have traction issue.

why do honda engine bays have a whole lot less going on than a celica engine bay? you pop the hood on a celica and you see hoses and wire everywhere. but not much more than just an engine on a civic...

Well... the engine is only like 1/2 way together in the first picture...

This is quite a tricky swap though... much more involved mechanically than a 3SGTE swap or a 4AGE swap. Custom header, custom mounts, either a fuel cell, which is what I think the Civic in the picture is running, or swapping over the fuel system from a donor... amoungst a lot of other custom nick-knacks...

That engine bay is majorly tucked and shaved. My bro's EJ Civic's engine bay is quite the mess of hoses, wiring, and lots of other stuff.

my dad has a 94 civic DX, it just seems like the enginge bay just has a lot less going on, like not as many hoses and stuff.

I personally think most Honda engines have more going on. Look at the old A20 accords... OMG! Vaccum lines up the ying yang. Guess it mostly matters about what model year the cars are. You should also note... the D16 in the Civic had like 3-4 different intake manifolds depending on the motor. Some were just big boxes, some were more traditional intake manifolds... some looked very USDM throttle body injection. All depends on the variation.

WOW i just noticed the engine wire haraness. Its just a giant plug at the firewall. talk about a quick engine removal. Just one connection to disconnect and the engine can come out!

I see that its red and its a K20a1 since its type R, but to me it looks like a worn out red. It looks like crap compared to the engine bay imo.
