I understand that the UK SR has lowered and stiffened suspension. Anyone know the Toyota part numbers involved in converting an ST suspension to SR specification?

Im pretty sure the SR didnt get any suspension updates, the ST , SR & GT all have the same suspension.

.Spec for ST, LTD and SR...
The Gen 6 1.8 ST was launched onto the UK market in July 1995, Its 7A-FE engine was good for 125 Mph and had a 0-60 of 10 secs, best part was it could return over 48 MPG .
The standard spec included, power steering,ABS,Drivers airbag, e/sunroof, remote c/locking and air/con as an option.
In December 1996 a limited adition was launched called the 25th Anniversary, this was based on the 1.8ST ,and was only made in silver or black,a production run of only 500 models were made 125 in black and the same in silver.
It came with alloy wheels, rear spoiler ,side skirts, carbon fibre front concel, and a Anniversary plaque with a unique serial number.
The second batch of limited aditions were called the SR, this time 250 were made in silver and 250 in black, no serial number plaque was put on this model but it came with a much better spec.
The 16" Momo sports alloy make the celica stand out, along with, rear spoiler ,side skirts, stainless steel mesh grill ,air/con and a Sony CD/Rad /Cass.
Production dates....
ST, 01/05/1995......10/ 1999,
25th LTD, Jan 1997 to Aug 1998,
SR, Aug 1998 to 10/ 1999.

if you want to lower your car get a set of spax springs, they give a nice low profile but still keep most of the comfort of the standard suspension biggrin.gif

Mmm. While not the most authoritative source, Wikipedia has this to say:

QUOTE

Based on the 1.8 ST, Toyota GB released the Celica SR with lowered suspension, bigger alloys, and mesh grille.

...which fits with my recollection. I have a feeling that the Toyota marketing material also said the suspension was hardened, but I may be wrong about the later.

You and me both - there's one near where I work so I'll check it out tomorrow morning. Guy doesn't know what he has so I may offer to spray his plastics for free and if he goes for it will spray mine for him and err "procure" his laugh.gif

Found half the answer: springs and shocks fitted to the SR:

48520-80045 & 48510-80219 frt s/abs £63.11ea + vat (so these two are the same between GT and SR)
48131-2t140 frt spring £ 63.76ea + vat
48540-29025 & 48530-29295 rr s/abs £74.83ea + vat
48231-2g280 rr spring £74.78ea + vat

GT:

48520-80045 & 48510-80219 frt s/abs £63.11ea + vat
48131-2s740 frt spring £66.60ea + vat - (305x156x177mm)
48540-29175 & 48530-29495 rr s/abs £74.90ea +vat
48231-2g470 rr spring £ 71.66ea +vat - (346x112x144mm)

Note: Sealed sports struts are standard for the UK market but an option in other markets. Typical ride height (road to top of arch 640mm rear, 655mm front)

TRD:

48130-ST001 frt spring - MacPherson strut
48130-ST011 frt spring - Super strut
48231-ST000 rr spring

TTE:

320mm uncompressed, 8 3/4 windings
280mm uncompressed, 5 3/4 windings
