^ then you should know that Hoyce Gracie could beat all these guys wink.gif

Didn't Matt Hughes OWN Gracie?

but Gracie is old now, i mean he is past his prime. matt was at his peak when they fought, but yeah he did beat him.

The fight was alright. I wish it would have gone on longer, but when you have two of the best strikers in the light heavyweight division in the ring together than things like that will happen. The fight ended how I figured it would but not how I wanted it to....for financial reasons.

I will agree with a few of you in saying that Liddell is a talented fighter, and does really have a much broader skill set than just stand up striking. However, saying that he is the best fighter ever is a little extreme IMO. You have to figure in that for the last 3 years he has been at the top of his game but could he have beaten a younger Couture, a Ken Shamrock in his prime, Hoyce Gracie in the first UFC. Can he hang with the Fedor and Alexsander Emelianenko's in Pride FC. Granted they are in the heavyweight division as Couture is now but there is so much talent o9ut there now that to say he is the best now and the best there ever was seems a little to much for me.

Quinton Jackson is a talented fighter and hopefully in his next fight against Dan Henderson we will get to see him display those sick ass ju-jitsu skills he has, of course Henderson isn't to shabby himself on the ground with his wrestling prowess. Should be another good match-up.

Just my $0.02

Dan henderson has a lot of hype behind him. in pride there isnt a real great middle weight class. he fights at 185lbs. he is a quick guy with great hands but he isnt good in the defense area. if quinton comes out and gets in his face it will be quinton. quinton is starting his training for this fight in about 5 weeks. i am trying to go up for his for a couple of days to train with the guys in big bear.

Oh and watch the ufc on july 7. tito is training big time for this fight. last time i heard from my buddies in huntington beach they said tito is back to his balls to the walls trainging. he hasnt see jenna in like 6weeks. rashad evans just doesnt stand a chance.

thats what they said about Tito's fight with Liddell and he get his ass handed to him. If you ask me Tito is a lot of hype these days, who knows what happened to the Tito of days gone by but I have a feeling that if Evans can keep it standing up Tito won't win. If it goes to the ground than he will have a better chance at pulling out a victory.

IMO...

Tito can't fight strong standup knock-out type fighters. They render him scared. Granted he did beat wanderlei silva back in the day... but that was before wanderlei became a freakin machine winning like 15-16 straight. AND... chuck isn't overrated. He's just old. The guy is like almost 40 years old (37 i think). He just got caught with a single good punch. It happens. Watch Liddell versus Guy Mezger and you'll see what sort of fighter he really is. As for rampage... he's young and in his prime. His early losses were decisions to good tactical wrestlers, ala Sakuraba. His more recent losses were to the best light heavyweights in MMA... Shogun and Wanderlei.

I'd still love to see Liddell versus Wanderlei Silva...

Aleksander and Fedor are both too big. I don't think ANYONE can hang with Fedor right now. They guy is too good all-around. He's a fricken beast.

i will admit that tito doesnt have the stongest chin. i will give you that. BUT.... his kick boxing is is getting extremely crisp and strong. Rashad is a wreslter. i dont take anything from him. but he is going to go against the BEST ground and pound guy around. there has only been one guy to dominate tito on the ground and that was randy courture. randy is unstopable on the ground. Oh and please dont play the age card for chuck. chuck is in his best shape of his life. he will even say that.

now on to fedor. he is a great fighter but put him against gabriel gonzonga or randy courture and you will see him crumble. fedor depends alot on his brut strength to get him where he wants to be. you also have to remember that the ufc has alot unorthodox fighters. thats another thing fedor isnt used to. i bet you within the next 12mnths you will see fedor in the ufc. dana white said he is determined to get him.

did anybody watch the WEC event on sunday?

All I have to say about the Ortiz vs. Evans fight is I am putting my money on Rashad simply for the fact that he is newer in UFC and has a little more to prove still.

No I didn't get to watch the WEC on sunday cause I was to busy hanging out with my awesome girlfriend *wink wink*

Congrats to Rob McCullough as he successfully defended his title tonight against Kit Cope. It is unfortunate that Kit got injured that badly but it is all part of the sport right.
