well right now the cruise control light just blinks. i tried resetting the ecu removing one of the batteries cables but it didn't work. i know that sometimes the actuator gets broken and somebody mentioned a sensor but that's all the information that i have right know.

generally if it just blinks, you have a bad actuator.

haha a new one is about $1200-$1400 at a dealer smile.gif they are easy to change and it's to the left of your battery, with a black cover on it. I have a spare, you can have it for $50 shipped if you want it, just PM me.

I don't know if this helps but when I bought my car (used) the CC worked intermittently. Then I discovered that on the back of the CC lever, a small rectangular box was falling out. When I pushed it in and the switch made contact, the CC worked, but it kept working it's way out. So, I took some crazy glue and put a few drops on the back of it and pushed it back in and held it for a few minutes and it has worked ever since!

When i saw that price on 1sttoyotaparts, I about fell out of my chair laughing. Any idea why they are so expensive? Especially as common as it is for them to fail

well i think because the actuator is responsible controlling the the speed of the car therefore it has to be...fairly accurate and smooth when increasing and decreasing speed...amongs some other safety reasons.
