ok it's long but you can skip to the middle if you want. here is where im at. i got my celi 1994 mabey 3 months ago. my plan was to do the 3sgte swap. only problem is, i got an st. now my new plan is to do an engine swap (practice) sell this car to get a gt-four and either rebuild the engine or take it from there. my question is, which engine should i go for. i have the 7s-fe now but i know it wont go much longer with me at wheel and 237,000 miles on it.

GT4 is not legal in the US without serious modification to the emissions(for example neither the JDM or even UK spec GT4 have an ExhaustGasRegulation system or EGR for short). All of the turn signals, headlights, taillights would have to be DOT approved. AND on top of that there would have to be crash test data for the GT4 in the US, which there isn't. So short of providing 4 or 5 GT4s for the DOT to test, compile data, assess the data, make a preliminary ruling, have that ruling overlooked by a committee etc etc etc Essentially what I am getting at is that there is a slim to nil chance of procuring a GT4 in the US. Oh, and don't forget to pay off customs agents at the dock where you would import the GT4 to, otherwise GL getting it through customs in one piece.
The ST has a 7afe engine. The 4age silver and black top have high compression ratios, making them more N/A beasts than turbo friendly, although you can probably sleeve/bore it out and put in lower comp pistons, new rods etc etc. The 3sgte can and will work in an ST, read the stickies about it, especially the parts about changing the motor mounts, tranny mounts and using the CORRECT combination of parts for the axle AND clutch. Talk to Dr. Tweak if you want a harness converted, you would have to send out your current 7afe harness + a 3sgte harness if im not mistaken. The 4agze will probably be the most direct swap for you in an ST, so research, research some more, google some porn and then research some more before you crack open a can of worms you cant gulp down. Then, with that experience under your belt. Twin-charge the 4agze and enjoy the rally-infusioned motor that the 4agze is capable of being. im in rockville but can be seen all over the place. is the 4agze any better than the 4age silver and/or black? i can't find any **** bout the 4agze. is the 4age black really any better than the silver, i foun some mixed messages from different sites bout it. where in delaware are you located? what you runnin under the hood?

A 4agze is basically a more beefed up version of your normal 16v 4age engines (stronger bottom end). It has, in most cases, a stronger transmission to handle the amount of power the engine produces, and has equivalent or more power then both the 20v silvertop or blacktop. The silvertop shares the same bottom end as the ae101 4agze and has a high compression ratio and 5 valves per cylinder and vvt. The blacktop shares almost the same platform as the silvertop by sense of having 5 valves and vvt, but has it's differences internally. The intake ports and Individual Throttle Bodies are larger then the silvertop. The cams, connecting rods, pistons, and possibly the crankshaft are lighter in weight compared to the those in the silvertop (Reason why it produces more top end power). The blacktop runs off a MAP sensor, where as the silvertop runs of a Air Flow Meter. So....If you want power with little or no mods to the engine or want to run open ITBs, then get a blacktop. If you want something more affordable and produces adequate power over stock , then get a silvertop. If you want an engine that's both great on the track and on the street as a daily driven then get a ae101 4agze. You'll need the extra torque in the lower rpm that the 20v's can't provide.

They don't make any other supercharger for the 4agze (I don't think), but i'm pretty sure I seen something about a mod for replacing the pulley to increase boost level. You can try asking guys on club4ag for clarification.
