What exactly do you have to do to debadge. Is it just glued/stuck on there and not actually fabricated? I want to take off the Toyota Celica and the GT on my car. Just leave it at a Toyota and see how many ask if it's a Supra. Haha. So what exactly do you have to do?

Get a heatgun and heat the badge up a bit but not too much. Slide a piece of Toothfloss underneath and work at it till the glue seperates from the car. Easy az!
Dont try it on the bullhorns. There are holes underneath. You might have an outline of the "Celica" and "GT". Just polish it out with your normal polish. |

Here's a better idea. Put some Supra badges on it and see how many people can tell you that you are wrong. But that's only if you can stand the ridicule that comes with that.

Yep Pete's got it. I used the hair dryer way when i got my old car back, very easy. Then I just used some windex or some instant detailer to get rid of the rest of the glue and clean it up some. But its not hard. But IMO take all the badges off looks very clean.

Oh one more question, what exactly did the first person mean by the "Bull horns" Was he refering to the Toyota symbol in the middle? I'm leaving that on anyways. This post has been edited by Andason: Aug 12, 2003 - 3:32 AM -------------------- i am awesome

Hmmm, why would you want to debadge anyway?

I took everything off, the only toyota symbol left is the one on the steering wheel. I took everything off because i wanted people to not kno what it was, keep people guessing, and it worked.

I considering de-badging mine and shaving the front bumper license plate holes and sidemarkers when it got painted, and I ended up just shaving the front bumper license plate holes. I may take off my Toyota and Celica emblems though, because I think it might look cleaner with them off.
Looking back now, I wish I would've shaved my sidemarkers. It would've been fairly unique in the US to not have sidemarkers. Oh well. -------------------- New Toyota project coming soon...

Anyone with a red Celi strip the badges? I've been wanting to strip my badges and nasty pinstripes but Im not sure if my paint is faded. I'd rather have the badges than some nasty outline of them.

mines red and i debadged. at first you could see, but i washed the car very well the next day and you couldnt even tell after that. i think the only reason i could tell at the beginning was because it wasnt fully clean around the edges, and since the rest of the car had been dirty and under the badges it was clean you could see, but after i washed the car it was fine.

I'll take some pics later tonight for you. I just shaved mine a few minutes ago, and it worked perfect. I just used Meguiars ScratchX to remove the glue stuff. -------------------- New Toyota project coming soon...

Here's a photo that I just took without the emblems. If you want a different angle or a close up or anything, let me know and I can take one for you.
