Hey guys I've been having a lot of problems with my celi lately....sagging lights, nails in tires, keyed, smoking etc... now its getting to me my engine have been running worse by the min...it seems like its losing alot of power when I floor it, it doesn't go anywhere dunno whats wrong maybe its time to retire this motor I know 5s aren't strong but mines usually pick up better then this....I was thinking maybe bad fuel pump or bad injectors. When I slam on the gas (just testing the car) it seems to slowly pick up my 0-60 is prob in the 30s... frown.gif any advice on this ?? I was gonna try some fuel injector cleaner see if that helps anything else you guys think I should try ??

manual or automatic?

Manual of course. smile.gif

Edit: Could the timing belt affect this ?? When I bought the car I did a fresh tune-up but didn't get a chance to change the T-belt and my timing is not advanced.

Edit 2: When I press on gas it feels like somethings clogged and the speed slowly goes up....?

very poor acceleration could be caused by a jumped tooth on the t-belt. you would notice very poor accel on the low end that seemed to be better when the revs got up higher. other things that could cause this, off the top of my head, kinked exhaust or badly clogged intake.

When was the last time you changed your fuel filter? If you can't remember when, or its been more than 15k miles, its time to change it. the part would only cost about 20 bucks, and you can do it yourself if thats the problem.

I checked the t-belt it's still good exhaust and intake is fine.

Fuel filter was changed 2 months ago I'm sure its still good.

Edit: Well I just put in some fuel system cleaner I'm gonna see if that does the trick and let it sit overnight.

Run some seafoam through your throttle body. While it may not fix the problem it sure is a lot of fun. It'll clean your engine nicely.

I hear bad stuff about seafoam but never actually tried it maybe I will this weekend

Well I put the FIC in it helped a lot but it still seems under-powered...Thanks for all the help though guys, thumbsup.gif but I think the engine is just getting old...170k on the chassis 120k on the motor.

At 120k your motor shouldn't be tired, there has to be something else wrong

Only things on my mind like mentioned are:

Fuel Pump
Slipping Clutch
Tune-Up Needed
Clogged Air Filter
Leaking Hose

My 5sfe Camry is also slow accelerating from 0mph. I cannot figure it out. What makes my problem harder is that it is random.

Did you use a fuel injector cleaner or gas treatment?

Send me a PM if you have the chance.
