HELP! What's this attached to my old headlight? How do i get it off? there is no fixing place for it in the projector.
The part i'm on about is the black box with all the wires going into it It seems to be attached to the unit on the inside. This post has been edited by manphibian: Jun 16, 2007 - 12:36 PM -------------------- |

Alright dude,
Yep, that must be the re-wiring job I heard about! There seems to be loads of people on here who have done the conversion so surely somebody knows what to do? What wires/connections is there on the projector unit? You might end up doing some cutting/soldering? Who knows? At any rate, let me know how you get on! -------------------- |

that must be the box that controls the headlight adjuster. some european cars have a motorized adjuster switch to raise and lower the headlight beams..

It's the electronic headlamp adjuster, this is a requirement on europe and UK cars, also part of mot test.

Please don't tell me i have to change them back to pass an MOT Yea, you will need to put that back on to pass MOT. Halogen lights in the UK require electronic adjustment. HID lights require both electronic adjustment and washers or wipers. You might get lucky and pass an MOT without them - it is something that testers have generally overlooked in the past but VOSA are getting hot on DIY HID use in particular. I just kinda assumed / expected that one could move the whole mechanism over to the JDM housing. I've bought but haven't fitted mine yet so starting to worry now. CRAP!
I didn't know that, is that definite? That would mean swapping the lights back and there is NO WAY i'm doing that. (there's no way you can transfer the mechanical adjuster btw) I'm gonna go to the garage and see what they say, need to get them adjusted anyway, they're all over the place. -------------------- |
