Well it won't be able to compete with the supercars but I want it to compete in the visual appeal first... Then maybe I can talk my mom into letting me do an engine swap...
I want to start off with low cost things first... I am thinking about getting me some seat covers or seat cushions... A person told me that racing seats aren't practical for a daily driver... And then I may get the pedals... Then get me the dash kit and Then get me a CD changer... then I probably get me some rims and tires (I don't like the low and small look of 17 and 18s, since I am going to be driving on pot hole city roads I think 15s are good enough...)... But I don't know where to go from there... I want to keep the resonator on my car because I like the quiet cruising and silent idling but I just want a tad amount of show... Some people told me that a muffler tip about 3 inches with fiberglass packed resonator (however you say it) was the thing I need... But I want a MagnaFlow Muffler Twin Tips and they said that that was going to be loud... Well are they right... and how do you think my project is going to do...? |

Ok im thinking clown car now! Racing seats not practical? Im sorry but youre going the wrong way if you wanna go show!? Seat cushions or covers are not show?! Ok yall correct me if im wrong but dont usually racers get smaller wheels cuz theyre lighter? so 15 inch wills (if you get nice looking ones) will just look odd Do your thing and respect to you if you keep your celica and you do what you want and like what you want but i just think youre starting to make a fool of your celica -------------------- Cruisin down the street in my Infiniti...always lookin for my next trip to Sin City

Racing seats may not be practical simply because they cost a lot of money, but they are really comfy and hold you in extremely well, and they'll make your interior look like a show car. I've seen some pretty cool seat covers though, like Bryan(1bwilson)'s TRD seat covers. Most seat covers are kind of ugly in my opinion, but there are some really nice looking ones if you look around.
As for the rims, you may want to consider some 16" rims, because they're an excellent compromise of good looks and good drivability. I have 17x7" rims on my car and we have some bad roads around here, and I haven't damaged them yet. My ride is a bit rough though. -------------------- New Toyota project coming soon...

blah, blah, blah, blah, blah...do whatever makes you happy! It's nice to ask for opinions, but we are not here to judge you on every little thing you wanna do to your car. I like to get second opinions sometimes too, but not for every little thing I am adding to my car. In your eyes, YOU should #1, it is YOUR car, and YOU will be driving it... Go for it! |

Whoever said racing seats arent pratical was lying to you. My friend has cheap ones and they are very very coumfortable(better then stock). As far as the other stuff goes, don't cut corners. Go all out or go home.

My definition of a true SUPER CELICA is starting out big with 3S-GTE than to some suspension work and off with the ultimate buff looking C1 body kit or i can go the luxury-smooth lookin curren look. After that it's time for the inside.

ok, just like everyone here I will suggest the proverbial "If you like it, thats good enough"
but, your thread title says, starting a new project. I can only assume you are reaching out for some opinions. IMO your not starting a project, adding seat cushions, pedals, dash kit, and a muffler is not much of a project. even the rims, keeping 15 inch rims IMO wont look good if your going show, get some larger wheels to fill the wheel wells. you say you want to compete with the "supercars"? I'm not sure what supercars you speak off. even though the celica is a beautiful car, you cant really compete with alot of supercars with the list of junk you listed. If you want to compete in any way, shape or form against other cars, you cant do this with simple pepboys modifications, wait, those aren't modifications. you need to spend a lot of money and combine it with alot of hard work. only then will people respect you and your car. sorry to flame on you, but your post is kinda pointless. please, no seat covers, (unless you get the trds) once again, let me apologize for being such an asshole --------------------

Hello, I can hide myself... remember I don't want to be place in the active members block... Oh... Yah... Listen my name is Nik, I am a boy... to be exact I turned 18 so I am a man... And no... I haven't brought a trans am... But my car has been in an accident... I was in the hospital for a few days... According by what people told me the brakes had locked and all but the car in front of me had jammed and I didn't react quick enough even though I wasn't tailgating... The airbags exploded and The front end was Crippled and the engine block is cracked and all... But I can't afford to get a new engine until I pay the doctor and hospital bills and boy, I don't remember any thing except 2 days ago... when everyone was telling me this... But I may try to get the 3sgte but my repair bill for all the damage on the car is over 7000... So that will have to wait... The insurance company has totalled the car, but I haven't seen how it looks yet... But then too, I was wanting to get a liftback of something... So I may get me a 7gc or get me a domestic too... Because my domestic friends could stop in time due to abs and all... So I am gunning for a 7gc but I don't know if I can find a good used one that I can afford... |

That's not a guy named Nik, unless he has a boyfriend who just dumped him. It's some stupid girl that was talking smack earlier. It's obviously the same person. They both have the word "Mica" in their names and are terrible at using the English language.
