QUOTE(lagos @ Jun 25, 2007 - 11:17 PM) the problem is, that no sick ass 6sp trans will bolt up to any of those motors. Art, there is a 6 speed tranny that will bolt to the A series engines ( 4AGE / 4AGZE / I think it'll even bolt to 7AFE with some mods ) but honestly I don't see the big benefit unless you love shifting. -------------------- ![]() |

current research shows that you have two 6speed tranmission option with an A series engine.
The 6 speed black top 4age found in the ae111 (jdm TRUENO). Or you can get a hold of the 2000+ gts 6speed tranmission. But I dont see any strength advantages to them, therefore its not a highly recommended upgrade. |

i dont think theres any point in a 6spd, usually you need a 6spd for a car with higher hp. With a stock ST, or even with a 20v in our car, theres no reason to need a 6spd. it will take you like 25 seconds to get up to 60 with a 6spd gear ratio. It would be nice to have an extra gear on the original tranny just to keep the revs down at crusing speed, but theres no real point. Also, good luck finding a 6spd trueno tranny in north america, they r pretty hard 2 come by.

yea i see the not much advantage point, and it would be probably expensive to ALSO ship a tranny too, but i would think it would be usefull with the upgraded engine. i really dont think it is worth ALL that much trouble... other than being one of the only peeps wit a 6 speed 6gc. OH WELL.
