QUOTE(Supersprynt @ Jul 20, 2007 - 3:36 PM) My PERSONAL opinion, is that this is a clever marketing campaign after the tuner boom, Fast & Furious and Hot Import Nights making getting sponsored the way to go. I don't doubt they actually pay certain people who have cars that go on tour with HIN/HID so they actually get their name out there, but for the most part this maybe just a discount program. they pay you for winning not shown up -------------------- BOOST GETS YOU LAID!!!! |

First of all, there are requirements for the certain levels of sponsorships. I qualified for semi-pro sponsorship which means that they pay for half of everything I want to do to my car. If I had qualified for a PRO sponsorship, they would pay 75% to 100% of everything for my car, depending on how much work was done on it already. In my case, I had over 3000 dollars done to it already because of the engine swap. A little more money into and I will qualify for a Pro sponsorship. They sent me two vinyls that I have to put on my car, and I DO have to attend 3 car shows a year (which are free to enter). If I win any of these, I get more cash bonuses or performance parts for free.
It is basically a discount program, but hey, half off for a GREDDY stainless steel cat-back exhaust system is fine by me. They also pay for half the labor that goes into installing the parts, or getting a paint job or whatever. So basically if I get $5000 woth of stuff done to my car, I only had to pay $2500, plus the cash I may win from shows or races. |
