My hood tends to jump around alot while i'm driving, and it makes a LOT of noise while doing so. I've compared it to my wifes celica, and the hinges are identical, have the same amount of movement and everything, no latches are missing, everything is seemingly identical. So what i've resorted to is MAYBE using hood pins. I guess i would place them at the top of the hood (near the windshield). Anyone ever done something like this before? is this a bad idea? I'm thinking out loud, so don't be afraid to harshly criticize my idea if necessary. thanks!

Does it jump around from the front or back? Have you checked your rubber stoppers? i believe that there are 2 in the front and one on each side. The front ones can be adjusted higher or lower.

it doesn't jump around in the front, just at the back by the windshield. if you grabbed the hood by the windshield while the car is stationary, you can move it up and down probably an inch, inch and a half.

Hmm. Due to no other alternatives the problem would have to be in the hinge or bracket where the hood connects to to the body. something loose? without pics its too difficult to tell. but to answer ur hood pins question: for functionality they might work but if the play is in the back and the pins are installed towards the front....
also, u could get them but they might look out of place on an oem hood. maybe now's a good time to get a c/f hood. smile.gif
