im about to buy the tein ss suspension, but wanted the edfc along with it. sponsor called me back yesterday and told me that if i wanted the edfc, ima need the gt-4 hood as well cause of clearance issues with the stock hood once the edfc is mounted.. so is this true?? or has anyone managed to mount the edfc and still be able to keep the stock hood, without having any clearance isuues??

best bet would be to figure out someway to measure the space between the top of the shock and the hood, n then get the dynamics of the edfc.. im look into it sometime this week. i figure changin the stiffness of the ride would only be fun doing it from inside the car..less work needed biggrin.gif

really?! cool i'll have to look into that too. I hope it wouldn't get crushed between the hood and tower with every bump/pothole.

if it doesnt hit once the hood closes those parts dont move up and down inside the engine bay they are stationary. everything under the shock tower moves. everything above it (camber plates, stiffness adjusters/edfc motors) do not move. you should be ok but to be sure call the Tein dealer down in cali and ask for exact measurements of how tall the new style motors are and then measure off the top of your tein SS's and check for clearance. i had thought about installing gt4 like vents in my stock hood or a CF hood that will be painted just for clearance issues plus it might look nice. smile.gif

hit something hard enough and the strut moves up.

? um if it moves up you got more problems. like even if u had the gt4 hood it would hit that one too.... lol

whole strut itself wont go past the frame of the car..the shock is there to absorb any bumps..and if it does move, your shocks are probably blown and you will have some serious frame damage if the whole strut moves.

on another note, i tried lookin up the dynamics of the edfc itself, but it seems like no one knows the exact measurements of it. any ideas??

the new edfc is only compatable with the monotube and comfortsport coilovers, which arent for our cars they will probably change that soon though

other than the gt4 hood, maybe the cf c-one hoods would work too (since they have that bulge above the strut towers)
