That is much too small. For now just run your PCV vented until you can get a catch can and proper intake pipe made.

dont use a check valve. you wont have any crankcase vent under boost. just hook it up to the intake like everyone keeps saying over, and over.

I thought that the crankcase only vented at idle and low throttle though anyway. I have no idea how I'm supposed to hook a hose up to my intake pipe which is plastic. and I don't have $100 to blow on a catch can.

Then just vent it like I said. It's not the optimal setup but it's better than how it is now.

ok, so over the last few days, I pulled the oil pan back off to re-seal it. I had to reseal the little "block-off plate" on the side of the oil pan. and I'm venting my crankcase to the atmosphere. but I'm still leaking/burning oil! ok, here's my issues right now:
1. When I shut the car off after running hard, I can hear this wierd sound that sounds like slurping liquid. Kinda like the sound when you swish spit around in your mouth. the sound sounds like it comes from the valve cover or the distributor cap, somewhere in that area.
2. After I boost, smoke comes from under the hood. I don't know exactly where from though.
3. There is oil, or at least some kind of black liquid, in my IC piping
4. my oil pressure light is coming on on my dash. though, I broke the sensor... the wire is connected to nothing, and the sensor itself is stil installed, just nothing connected to it. yet, the light wasn't on on my dash until I got the new turbo on and started boosting. now it comes and goes. I don't really understand why. my oil pressure gauge reads like 30 PSI at like 3500 RPMs crusing on the freeway, and like 10 when I'm idling, is that low? is that low enough to make the oil pressure light come on?

anyone know anything about any of those? also, where else could I be leaking oil? I know it's not from the oil pan or my feed or drain line, or my filter relocation lines. Are there any seals on the engine I could have blown? Though, I kinda noticed my timing belt cover llike one small corner has a hole in it, is there oil in there? (noob question, I know)

where at in the IC piping is your oil?
anything more than a SLIGHT SLIGHT film near the turbo means the seals are gone

the swishing i was GOING to say is prob bubbles in your coolant, but since you seem to have oil problems...check your oil level, and figure that stuff out first.

since the set-up is brand new, there will be smoking as any kind of goo is burning off the downpipe, turbo, and such

I haven't pulled off any couplers after the intercooler, but I can say that there is a decent amount of film all the way up to the IC. of course, I know the seals on my last turbo were gone and it could just be remnants from that turbo.

I'm beginning to think more and more that maybe this turbo needs re-sealed. I also still have an oil leak. I drove down my girlfriends driveway yesterday at like 5-ish mph and when I got out I saw an oil drop about every 2 feet. so it's a pretty decent leak. I'm beginning to think it's from the camshaft seal, crankshaft seal, or oil pump. all of which I believe would be a huge pain in the ass to change because you have to pull the timing belt off for any, and I know a timing belt is a pretty big job on it's own... I really don't know what other seals or gaskets there are on the engine that oil could be leaking from! it seems to leak from somewhere on the back of the eninge or the passenger side.

I'm getting fed up with celicas all together actually... but I think I'll keep this one around a while longer and see if i can get it running reliably. then probably buy a 240sx or MKIII supra later on. Anyway, the leak got worse today. pretty f-ing bad now. The good news (I think...) is that it's not leaking from over by the timing belt cover. At least a majority of it is dripping from that plate thing that bolts to the transmission that you have to remove in order to get to that half of the oil pan, and once it's removed you can see the flywheel. I'm not sure if it's leaking from the oil pan on that side, or if it's leaking from the tranny from under the flywheel, or if it's leaking from somwhere higher that is dripping into there and then out the other side. But, I know before I put the turbo on that after running alot my clutch would start slipping like crazy (new clutch, but it had been broken in properly) and I was told it was probably oil leaking onto my clutch. is there a way I can tell if the oil leaking out is oil or tranny fluid? besides checking my oil level cause I can't get to my dipstick cause my downpipe is in the way, and when I tried to get to it anyway I ended up breaking it...

from where you described it sounds like the rear main seal...

looks like you need to pull the tranny off and replace that seal asap.

stick your finger in and smell it...if it smells reallllly bad, its tranny fluid, which i doubt, like b-man said, sounds like a rear main seal.

yeah, I was thinking it was rear main seal too. *sigh* I've done almost 100% of all work and maintenance on this car, the only thing I really didn't do was the clutch/flywheel because I didn't think that removing the transmission was within my abilities. but that was 3/4 of a year ago, and this time, I really don't have a choice in the matter because I really don't have the money to pay somebody to do it. so I guess I'm about to learn how...
