1997 st205 alltrac....what is that? do you mean GT-4? (i figure this is just a regional difference on what the name is, just asking for clarity)

If the car is an st205, then it has the 3rd gen 3sgte, and the car comes with a water 2 air intercooler, which is one of the better intercool systems you can go with. I see no point to (in my eyes) downgrade to an Air 2 air, unit. Why change it from Water2air, to Air2air?

What are your Horsepower goals for this car?
^With this info, people can suggest kits, or atleast intercoolers to fit your want/need, and somethign that can fit your budget as well.

If you check out Itchy:

http://www.6gc.net/members/407

"300x600x3" Bar and Plate FMIC"

I believe his Intercooler is rated for 500 to 600hp. It is not a kit, and he probally spent about $300+ for just his Intercooler. But with views as lofty as 400 and 500hp it wont be cheap.

Itchy dynoed his car at ~330 Front wheel hp, with a Holset Hx35 Turbo. (larger turbo off a Dodge Ram Pick up)

Also, check out:

Tufy
http://www.6gc.net/members/2022

He has a Gt-4 with ~610 All Wheel HP. It gives you an idea of the mods, and Money needed to obtain your goal.

Final comment: I don't believe there is a "cheap" bolt on kit for our cars. Your best bet is to do some research, then seriously access your budget, and goals, to see what is obtainable. Then take your time, and piece together a kit yourself.

Good Luck. Hope to see your build up in the near future.

edit: spell check ftw

Sorry for being off topic, but I thought Tufy has ~480 awhp.
Is this 610 awhp on GT35?
Did he post a dyno plot somewhere?

He posted one a while back, I could be mistaken.

Let me look.

edit: went to the dyno charge stickies in FI.

Tufy:
1994 model gt-four st 205
3sgte engine, full modified internals, power fc ecu, 272 deg cams ect..
Garrett Gt35R turbo
22.4 psi boost with pump fuel
4wd dynojet

so you are correct. (i thought somewhere, it was mentioned 600awhp)

480AWHP would be ~600+- at the flywheel

Because the stock ST205 intercooler does not support his horsepower goals.

i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this.

^if u look, my statement is prior to my knowledge of his HP goals., after then i send him in the direction of parts, and upgrades.

You did state that you see no point to "downgrade" to an air to air unit. Since that is an ignorant statement, I thought it might be helpful to you (and others) if I pointed out that the ST205 intercooler will not support as much horsepower as some good A/A units. Just trying to help - no biggie.
