I just bought my first 98 GT. So far I LOVE it. The previous owner had an alarm and what looks to be a power door lock remote. The dealership in their infinte wisdom removed the controller, leaving several wires hanging. I will put in a new alarm if I can get everything identified and back working. The driver power lock does not work and the interior light also does not work. My guess is that they were hooked to the controller. Ok I'm thru rambling. I need to know the wiring harnes color codes for the locks and dome light, any help would be great...

I'm not sure what the colors are for power door locks, as my car never had factory ones. For the dome light, you can tap into a red and white wire near the driver's side kick panel. It's a negative trigger, meaning that the wire is grounded when the doors are open, and gives +12 volts when they're closed.

Door locks are negative trigger.
In the left kickpanel blue/black is lock and blue is unlock. The interior may just be a fuse check them first. |

Thanks Guys,
I've checked the fuse already, I think the dome was on a timed delay like the alarm l want to install. l just got the stereo work started and l don'nt want to have it stolen. (2 -10" with 500 watts stock head unit/CD) was thinking about 8" in the doors but it hits pretty hard now, we'll have to see... Again thanks for all your inputs |
