hmmm... a 2zz-ge with vvtl-i. I've just read too many problems with this motor. Too many things break with time. (still a neat motor though)
V-6 swap....nice! gt-4 conversion.... very nice The last posted pic should have had the white celica swaped positions with the 2000+ celica -------------------- CLOSED on 25 acres! -shop coming soon.... |

If they do break all that happens is you lose lift at 6,200 RPM's. Doesnt damage anything. Timing Chain, so that wont break and it is fun as hell to drive. Fun time taking pictures though remy. Fun time. -------------------- |

Oh I bet it is fun! 180 bhp with a little kick of lift is always enjoyable. I just wish the lift was more aggresive. The extra lobes are tiny!

So. How well does the V6 Swapped do against the GTS? Ive always wondered that... lol
2ZZGE doesn't have too much issues, its those darn tranmissions.. and people that shift like its Fast and the Furious... shifting from 3rd to 4th... at 8300 RPM but slamming it in 2nd instead... Biggest issue would be oil starvation from HIGH G's and lift bolts. |

1/4 Mile wise, a 00 GTS can achive a 14.8 pass STOCK with a good driver.. I can see the V6 Running low 14s to high 13s..

I've seen even better time slips but it also depends on A/F and sea level.

Im pretty sure the best 1/4 Mile time to date on a stock GTS was 13.9. Average is 14.6+. But then again I might be thinking with bolt ons...(IHE) I just remember a huge bitch fesh over on newcelica.org where one guy was saying that its IMPOSSIBLE to do a 13.9 1/4 mile run on a stock gts, where there has been proof with some guys that have done it plenty of times. Idiots. Anyway, I wouldn't mind givin a run vs the v6, would be fun. Im sure he'd take me, but by how much!?!? -------------------- |

13.9 what a guy with I/E/H/PFC/Headwork ran recently.
14.6-14.9 Are the times for a Good driver, while 15-15.5 is what a regular and poor driver might achieve. |
