i was recently talking to a co-worker who has a turbo 1.5 non v-tec del sol with 191 whp. He was talking about a program called step boost that he was going to put in his car. Has anyone ever heard of this for celicas? or is it just a honda thing?

he probably ment 2 step boost. which means he can mash on the accelerator on a stop and i believe it has like a redline of xxxx rpm which then cuts ignition sooner than fuel which always a bit of fuel to go thru which gets ignited in the turbo which makes it spool off the line. however, turbos dont like combustion on its blades too well and turbos tend to not last long under this condition
-------------------- the 1/4 doesnt have patience for a ST.... so we make them ST-T's so atleast we'll sound good going slow.

stagged boost control is a common function through out turbo'd cars with the proper controllers. its a universal type deal not really car specific (though you can find car specific setup applications)
even Turboxs offers staged Manual boost controllers, but its not very well known/used tool/setup around these parts. This post has been edited by playr158: Oct 15, 2007 - 8:43 AM |
