i'm also interested to find out how much for a RHD conversion. i'm in utah so not too far. i won't be able to get it done for quite some time but still want to see what options i have. i would also like to test drive one of these AWD conversions. it's the closest i will ever get to a real gt4 LOL

i don't see how showing us pictures of the "3 AWD 6th gens" will give away this guys shop.. it seems selfish that you are hiding this resource from us (if its legit) just because you are waiting to save up money to have him work on your car.
Don't get me wrong, but i just don't see the big picture of hiding all of this information from the community. If this guy is legit, it may have just opened the next big door for this website. I know many members here that would drive there themselves to have a proper, tried and true AWD swap performed on their celi's. And if this guy has a demand from the community he will surely import more parts to make this happen for others as well. This post has been edited by jcbass7: Nov 16, 2007 - 10:35 AM |

I think its boulll skip that he is holding information from this celica community. Why even post a thread and not answer questions. How would EvolutionOX feel if every thread he post on this community never gets answered? -------------------- |

i think you guys are being a little too harsh for the guy...he just ask for our opinion on the job and wanted to see if it was legit...he also gave us a scenario of what happened to him during the visit to the shop...Im pretty sure he will get back to us with pics and info of the shop, but first...he found the shop and wants to get his celi done first....i don't blame the guy and i don't blame anyone on here throwing a fit...i was like that too, but if you were in the guy's shoe...you probably wouldn't say much until you got your celica done and then post it here for us members....which is probably the guys' mistake in the first place...cheers

To get a opinion from the members on this site you need to provide good information. People in the celica community have seen scam artists so many times that we have a developed a very thick skin to claims like this. Asking for pictures not only helps us find the "next big thing" but also helps us provide our best opinion of the price and craftsmenship of the shop it self. Most people flying the BS flag in this thread dont even care about the shop name or where its located. They just want to see picture proof of a AWD work in progress.
If your going to hold pictures/information your going to be on your own when it comes time to decide if this shops claims are bogus or not. For your sake I hope you dont get scamed. -------------------- Member of Team 5sfTe

Well I never said this would be the next big thing all I wanted to know is the quote they gave me a reasonable price. I could not care less if you dont believe me then ignore this thread no one is making you post here anyway. The shop DOES import rear clips and parts from japan of course but do you think I really want to pay more for the shipping when he has one laying around his shop that I could use in stead of ordering one, waiting, and paying more? Now chacha asked me to get him a quote and I will personally I will go back there and also take pics *if he doesnt mind* but the shop isnt what you call "close" to me its out of my way.

I used the "" 's because I was QUOTING the words of someone else. I also never said I didnt believe you, infact, Id LOVE for this shop to be the real deal. I was just pointing out the reasoning behind why alot of these members (if you look the members using the BS flag have been around a long while) are very questionable about yours/shops claim. Again, to sum it up, GG on finding the shop. I hope its all its cracked up to be. This may be the future of the 6gc family. -------------------- Member of Team 5sfTe

If the shop has a really good guy in Japan, I can see this as a real possibility. The floor pan just needs to come with the clip (separated from the front. It would cost about the same as a normal front clip (you still have to buy a good running car no matter what!), and the fabrication costs on the back-end are much less.
I personally think the price is a very good for what he would be getting if the quality of the work is there. I also agree with the 'old skool' guys - I'd like to see a few pics! -Charlie -------------------- 2003 Subaru WRX Wagon

yeah... what ever happened with this, anyway? If I had the money for this swap, I would have my car SHIPPED to AZ and take the damn bus to work every day while it was gone! A basically 6th gen All-Trac would be the car of my dreams!
