iv`e got cold air blowing from the a/c but when the temps turned up the air is only luke warm.
i`ve done a search or 2 and been told there could be air in the system or the thermostat could be faulty can anyone give me some detailed tips on how to flush the system out and start afresh and where the thermostat is again some details on removing this cheers |

there's a few threads on how to flush your radiator...
it's pretty simple. basically when you do it, be sure to have your hvac control dial set to hot and (if you can) jack up the rear of the car so it's inclined forward.. the drain plug is on the lower passenger side behind the radiator (a white plug) that comes off with a simple twist. the thermostat is inside the metal neck part of the passenger-side radiator hose coming into the block. there's two bolts holding it down.. but to gain access to it, you'll need to remove the alternator and loosen/remove the AC compressor in order to reach the bottom of the two bolts (if you have AC). after putting everything back together, make sure you bleed the system. i use a funnel (below) to bleed the system: it basically ensures that coolant is always topped off.. -------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |

squeezing the radiator hose a few times also helps the bubbles escape, but make sure the car isn't jacked up in the back during the bleeding process.
don't forget to fill up the overflow bottle about a quarter to half way.. as it warms up, the coolant will expand and dump some in the overflow bottle.. take note, once the bottle is filled, it will come out from a little overflow hole at the top of the neck and (possibly) make a bit of a mess. -------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |

Check the black cable that goes from the climate control unit through the firewall to the heater control valve. Make sure it didn't come unclipped from its holder under the dash. If it did the valve will not open when the temperature control knob is moved and will prevent the heater core from getting warm.

Blue controls the air mixer door. Black controls the heater core valve. Both should be checked actually.
