QUOTE(CelicaST_CALI @ Jul 11, 2007 - 6:28 AM)

how is this false,ou celica have around 10 differnet body kits, around 5 engine swaps

Ten isn't really a lot. There is currently only one widebody kit and that seems to be only available from Japan. There was promise of another one from the UK but that is still in the works. Engine swaps aren't really aftermarket products. Luckily, parts are fairly easy to come by - but products are scarce.

QUOTE

there is all kinda stuff u can buy for it...a lot of cars dont have very much aftermarket items..

I guess it depends what car you compare it to. Most people tend to compare against the Golf, Fords, Lexus... Probably not a fair comparison.

We do okay for body kits but other aftermarket products for our car are seriously lacking. Some examples from memory and recent threads:

* Headlights (no 3rd parties as far as I know)
* Taillights (two 3rd parties, neither of which have mass appeal)
* Good quality door seals/treads
* Supercharger / compressor kits
* High performance brake kit
* Replacement seat covers (I mean replacements, not protectors)
* Plastic body panels

I'm tired of all the power this car has. Every time I step on the gas, the car just rockets off like it's a ferrari.

Only thing I've hated for this model is that parts are not cheap and easy to find plus we did not get the high end motors.

Things I don't like about MY 6gc?

Bone-rattlingly stiff ride for a daily-driven car.
WAY too many dents and too much rust.
My aftermarket seats occasionally squeak and are bouncy.
I eat through tires like people go through socks.
Bad strut mounts that sometimes make noise.

In general:

That our cars come with nasty seats stock.
Underpowered from the factory.
Vague steering/handling for a sport coupe from the factory.
FWD isn't my favorite.
Cupholders aren't the best.

Really I can think of many more good things about the car than bad, so I guess its worth keeping. smile.gif

There's only a few things that get on my t1ts:

1. when it rains and I want the window slightly open, all the water runs in! (I live in England so it always wet here!)
2. door window rattles (I've tightened everything and still vibrates even though i turn my bass down)
3. can't get a kids seat in the back, otherwise it's ideal cos of the low roof and short legroom. Would be a cool dads car.
4. the damn headlight seals that just want to pop-out every day!

as for drinks holders - no food, drink, or smoking in my cabin!

My dislikes:
-I hate the cupholders all in all, mainly location and the fact that whenever I stop fast or do anything while putting the weight to the front of the car they slide out!
-Car is a slow ST
-Car is at around 3500rpm @ 80mph
-Handling isn't totally up to par
-Coupes get short end of the stick for tail lights
-Weight to power(or should I say lack there of lol) ratio

Likes/Loves:
-Car looks like a sexy toyota and not like a subaru which(in my opinion) the GT-4 looks like(only in my opinion peeps)
-Interior is decent, just needs minor tweaks
-Lack of headroom in the backseat(just means that only short people of little weight can ride in the back and not make my car any slower by adding more to it's already massive weight lol)
-Most things have to be custom on it for it to fit my needs and tastes, so it's more unique and I can take pride in that

I personally think there are more pros than cons to the 6g but still tryin to slim down that dislikes list..... I think I'm gonna start by RIPPING out that d*** cupholder lol

100x Cup Holders – I have knocked drinks out of them more than once. They’re right where I put my arm when I shift.

That’s about it. Other than the lack of a GE motor is the US market I think Toyota built a heck of a car with the 6GC. The design still looks nice after 13+ years, not too many cars built in 1994 have that much appeal based solely on appearance, as they look very dated now.

hahaha...it's too plasticky...interior needs to be upgraded and most of all...it's too noisy...as the days goes by, it's slowly deteriorating and not as solid as it should be...example...when i close the door....sounds hallow...feels like it is going to fall off...and roof needs to be a little more taller...and lastly the passenger back seats...people complain about sitting in the back...lol, i don't mind...im the driver anywho....biggrin.gif

I'm backin the cup holders. Stick a fast food cup in it and it's the perfect height for an arm rest when changing gears.

Lol, you americans and your cup holding facination.
Celica's in general: Not quite enough head room (I'm 6'3")
My Celica: The rear bumper's missing some paint where I reversed into my mate's car. It was far too early so I was half asleep, car misted up etc etc.

Road noise. More than I wish the cup holders were better wink.gif I wish that the car just had a quieter cabin without spending a ton of money and time to modify it to make it quieter.

On the up side, I couldn't agree more with tads about the style of the car. It's a beautiful design that is timeless and has held up exceedingly well over the years. People who don't know Celicas are shocked to hear my car is nearly 14 years old.
