Got a problem with my celica guys, and need someones help. My clutch is really starting to slip pretty bad, I can be in 5th gear, and put the gas pedal to the floor, and it will rev up as if its in 2nd or 3rd. So I need to get a new clutch, and find someone to put it on in Greensboro.
So if you can help me out, i'll be more then happy to pay, but it'll be towards the end of Dec. before I can get it done..but if you can still help, please let me know.. Thanks - Roger -------------------- |

many local mechanics should be able to do the job for you.
even some gas station mechanics will take on the job. |

what is your ultimate goal in regards to clutch.
1. DIY 2. Somebody else? You can do this yourself only if. Its not your daily driver, and are willing to be without the car for 1 or 2 days. some people can do it in 6 hours. But the first time, thats impossible. Simply, because you dont know what your doing or whats next without reading. there are some tools that are required (pricey), otherwise i would pay to have it done. if you pay for it, might as well change the real main engine seal and have the oil pan seal checked. I spent 400 bucks to doit. Maily because i also bought tools. Which i get to keep, took me a week. Yes, a week. but it was worth it. tell us what you want, we may all be able to help out. -------------------- Learned a lot in 10 years... Well mostly I want to just get a new clutch. As far as diong it myself, ain't going to happen. haha I know absolutely nothing about doing it. I've only taken out 1 engine in my time, and that took FOREVER. haha
But yes, its my daily driver, only car I have. So I'd need to get it done by someone, or a shop that can get it done in 1 day (hopefully). And yes, my plan was to have the seal fixed while I was getting a new clutch because I have an oil leak and that would be the perfect time to get that fixed as well. I just need to find a good clutch (hopefully a good racing clutch) for a decent price. And get it installed, and the oil leak fixed all in one day. I'm hoping to spend no more then $700 for this because out of the $2,000 i'll be getting at the end of the month, atleast $1,000 will be going towards bills, and the rest is for the celica to get right. I took the car out again today for another spin and it seemed to do decent once the car started warming up...but I can definitly tell i'm going to need to get it replaced asap! QUOTE(BigRog95 @ Dec 8, 2007 - 9:59 AM) bump a good decent clutch will throw you out of look if you only have 700. You will be better off with a oem like replacemnt for about 150 then you are looking for 550 labor.... The seal is 20 bucks and the tranny seal are 20 for pair. gear oil. 20 bucks. resurfacing flywheel is 40 - 60 vs getting a new one. If you what a decent stage 2 cluthc , you need a decent flywheel. (bout 300 just for flywheel) you are probably looking at best 900 if you find a decent shop. Toyota was going to charge me 900 for just the clutch. But they can do it in one day. So if you are looking for fast good service, put 700 cash and finance the rest at a dealership. otherwise any other shop will take the care for at least 2 days.... I did not know nothing about cars, and i did it myself... its just labor work/ you will need second hands to help lift that tranny. -------------------- Learned a lot in 10 years...
