So it looks like I'm going to be pulling the 1/4 glass from a local junkyard and doing my own install since my wife backed into the neighbor's car and another $500 is out the window just before Christmas - gotta go cheap, now. frown.gif

I will be pulling the window on Friday afternoon and since neither the Toyota manual or Haynes have anything on removing/installing quarter glass, I have a few questions:

1. How long should I expect to need for removal?
2. Complete list of required tools to take with me?
3. Step by step (remove this, then that, etc) would be really helpful.
4. What do I need to take from the donar car besides the glass, if anything?
5. Tips on installation, along with needed materials (sealer, etc).

Thanks!

something to hold the glass preferably a suction cup with a handle.
screw driver
knife
patience.
use suction cup for support so glass doenst fall.
take molding / black **** from around the windows out.
pull
go to auto zone/kragen/pepboys / auto parts store of your choice.
tell them you need something to install a window
reverse steps done.....

or google search a manual smile.gif

The 1/4 glass windows are bonded in place. You need special tools to remove/replace plus bonding agent. It is a job for a large garage, a Toyota dealer or a breakers yard (as they will have the tools and skills to do the job).
