To all of you complaining about the cold, it's 80 degrees outside right now. I don't wanna hear it.

no rust at all for me.. yet. *knock on wood* i've been driving for years now in harsh weather conditions.. plus my car is 'almost' rust proof and totally prepared for winter. what i would hate most is to have to deal with a crappy beater car that's boring to drive and has crappy heat and traction and suffer through the cold for half the year..

just wash your car regularly and keep the salt and dirt off your wheel wells and sides, even if it means to have a frozen door the next morning. i have a wired car heater inside which i point towards the door so in the morning before i leave, i'll just plug it in and door defrosts in a matter of minutes

Dude, you live in Texas. You're living a dream man. No rust, warm weather, don't need to get winter tires, run with rims all year long. I hate you.

...go outside and sweat in the middle of December, never knowing what "dry" feels like, streets flooding after a few hours of rain that splash up your hood (thank god I have a sri), taking a deep breath and not feeling thirsty, the gorgeous scenery of flat dirt

Oh yeah, heaven

Yeah, but texas. I would've loved to live in texas. Football all year round in high school. I can only dream of that. I'm willing to sacrafice heat to be able to drive in dry warm weather all year round.

I live 20 minutes from Galveston beach. And I take my celi out in the sand all the time. Well that sand and salt from the gulf can do a number on your undercarriage if you don't go get it thoroughly washed afterwards. So we're not immune to salt damage either.

Sand drifting is fun, I'm not gonna lie.

Winter isn't much of a major problem here but if the weather man mentions the word snow... then I hope you don't need bread or milk! People go nuts around here.
