I need 4 performance tires. The last set I got I got for a steal at 65 a pop, daytona dayton's or something. Good tires, made my rear end slide :-P With the new Celi, it's got some Yokohama something or others. I don't know tires. I do know I need tires that'll grip well, and are preferably under 100 each. Tire life isn't as serious an issue, I have no problem shelling out more money for tires that I use for good times The buyers guide on tirerack.com isn't very reassuring as I don't know what from what. Any help is appreciated.
Edit: I want to stay in the stock tire sizes This post has been edited by Rivo: Sep 29, 2003 - 8:34 PM |

Toyo T-1S. The best tires you'll ever use. I have them on my car, stock rims, and they're great. All the amateur circuit races in canada have to use the same tire and all the drives agree these are the best tires. Online Tires has them for really cheap. I might buy a couple sets to have around. I'm running 195/50/15. A little smaller then stock tires size.

The best all season tire (which I have on both cars right now) - Dunlop SP Sport 5000. Handles great in the wet and dry, and does a hell of a job in the snow.
I just noticed that you are in SoCal, so you will not need all seasons. Check these out: Kuhmo Ecsta 712 - cheap, but handles great in the wet and dry Bridgestone Potenza RE730 - Little more expensive but better handling and less noise than the Kuhmos. 300 tread wear! |

You call 280 sticky?
I wonder what then is 120 or even 40 on my RA1? Come on guys, tirerack and others have reviews on tires. Use that site wisely. Note here! In japan and all other GTC around that world. Only 2 tires comes up alot. Yokohama and Bridgestone. Michelin is also in there. Thats a Hint! My advice is either some Paradas or my Favorite, Bridgestone Potenza S03 PP. If you are looking for grip, serious grip with little regard to tread wear, Some Toyo Proxes RA1 would do. Advice, you might need to get a good clutch.
