I have a 1996 Celica SSII ST202 3S-GE its pretty much stock, low Km's (60,000Km cert) however it has... a HKS Pod filter (excellent sounding vaccum in 2nd & 3rd), Alpine 6.5" in the back, alloys, new battery, clear lights (low/park and fog)

just wanting to know what to do with it.. just asking for ideas

Don't change out the bumper. Since you have an SS-II do it up and get the whole SS-III deal. splitters, sides, raiser blocks and jdm tails. Since you already have the clear turns you'll be good to go. Oh yeah and you definately need to drop it.

I've been doing some thinking and looking around to see what I can do to my car.
I've compiled a little list

3S-GTE Swap.. joking

SS-III grille
TRD lowering springs
SS-III side skirts
HID's

for the performance side
TRD leads
CAI
Iridium Sparkplugs
change gas has 91 atm
exhaust I want to keep stock
Throttle body coolant mod I heard about this on other sites what is this about?

any other things you think I should do?

are you planning on doing a whole sound system in it? i think you should. biggrin.gif
trd springs are just overpriced eibachs if i remember correctly. most people get teins to lower. cheaper and i think it will take the car lower too.

Go the Hawkes Bay 6gens biggrin.gif . TRD leads are pretty expensive bro especially from Toyota. What exhaust did you car come with 2 1/4" ?? Mines the Hyper Sports model came with all the TRD goodies. Anyways what I was going to ask you: Are you interested in a TRD Muffler?? Was on my car before I put a bigbore on it. Not loud (pretty quite really) but has a nice tone to it. Made for ST202 3S-GEs.

Oh and about running on 91. According too a car specifications site, 3rd gen 3S-GE's should be run on 95 or higher. I've always run it on 95 or 98 if I'm feeling rich lol. Runs pretty **** on 91.

I run mine on 91, but am currently running it on 98 thanks to a 20c/l fuel docket wink.gif. There is a difference but it doesn't seem to be that big (mainly smoother acceleration).

I'm in a similar position, 1996 SS-II that's pretty much stock (has the skirts and a Tom's front lip though...it's a tad cracked underneath from evil judder bars but you can't see it without sticking your head down there wink.gif ), just thinking of what I should do to her. NZ FTW tongue.gif.

Regarding your dyno curve, methinks that is the ACIS switching over from low to high as I experience the exact same thing at the same point when driving it at high revs (hop on the motorway and floor it in second from low speed, you'll be able to feel it kick in at 4,500 to 5,500rpm)

One mod I will be doing shortly is getting some of these: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-135255856.htm if that gives you the idea/inspiration to do likewise. The orange indicators detract so much from the look frown.gif

I'd been thinking of getting an HKS filter like that, but most places I've seen them they've cost the moon. Where'd you get it and how much did it set you back? (if you don't mind me asking)

nothing I don't think just stock extrators
yeah I know but that was what was in it when I bought it

ACIS opens 5,200

yeah alright i'll add those indicators to the list

HKS filter came with the car aswell as its flare. Which are removed when they come to NZ) i'm nz 1st owner btw

get a K&N or another with a popular name such as APEXi if you worried about price, some people say 'outflows K&N, but it doesn't filter as good

The APEXi is nice as it's one that doesn't need oiling, but meh. I'm somewhat tempted by this, it'd look rather hot under the hood biggrin.gif

You're going to have to be careful if you get both the lowering springs and the side skirts; my skirts have suffered the occaisional scrape from NZ's useless roads frown.gif (and I'm at stock height). I should take pix, perhaps in the morning smile.gif.
