I doubt anyone does, its probably not as efficeint as building the 3s for more boost. I say go out and get the low boost supercharger an M8 I think thats what it is. What ever Greddy uses. and make a custom bracket for the supercharger. But you will also need to custom make an intake manifold for it. I say its not worth it, unless you got the money to be unique.

well the thing that i am looking at would be putting a supercharger on there with a bypass solenoid so that it would basically eliminate turbo lag. cuz the supercharger would creat boost until the turbo kicks in and the solenoid stops creating boost.

Well it seems to me you already have your mind made up. If you already plan on doing it, then do it and post pics of your set-up. I say do it to be unique, because obviously it isn'y worth it to do all that custom work.

you know, i've always kindof wondered if you could run both supercharger and turbo, supercharge the low end, turbo the high end. i also wonder about my sanity too though
i say go for the supercharger, then sell me your turbo -------------------- ~Andy

I can't remember who it is on the MR2 forums that says this:

you know thinking about this, a supercharger and turbo on the same motor? On a four cylinder? Say youve built this low compression motor that can handle crazy amounts of boost, and youve a big honkin turbo on there that needs a certain amount a exhaust flow before it even gets moving, then youve got a S/C that must spin many times faster than the engine in order to build boost at low RPMs. At idle, youre engine will be fighting against a LOT of exhaust backpressure, no compression, and the drag of the supercharger. However, after you hit the gas youll prolly build boost VERY quickly, maybe too quickly. And unless you have some kinda clutch release system, youll have to deal with the parasitic loss thru the entire powerband. It might be an effective sytem if you had a nice big V8, need good displacement. Not trying to bash the idea, maybe use a small little centerfugal supercharger? Ive heard of electric superchargers, that might work. -------------------- OBD-II makes me a sad panda

perhaps you should also look for a special style turbo to deal with that... i've seen one in one of the Import magazines thats basically a small turbo built into a larger one... so it spools up quick then uses the larger size for the higher limits...

yeah its called a v.g.t turbo its not a smaller one in a bigger one at low rpm it has a small a/r ratio and then as engine rpm increases the a/r ratio gets to increase and the vanes on the turbine adjust to get more airflow. as far as an electric s/c we did dyno runs at school with them and the hastle of putting one on and the gains u got/lost were not worth even doing it.
