What are your power plans for the car.... Also, How much time do you have to replace the engine? What are your fairly longterm power goals for this beast? - Matt |

QUOTE(CelicaST_CALI @ Mar 22, 2008 - 2:42 AM) how much are u looking to pay???are u going to be doing the install urself??? ^^ good questions if you are looking for a little more power than a 4age would be an option but the cost is high and the power increase isn't that great. For just a replacement 7afe the cost is much much cheaper and easier. also, you are OBDII so having a non OBDII motor in your car would make it difficult to get a state inspection. -------------------- |

not trying to jack thread but i have the same problem my 7afe is burning more oil than gas lol its my soon to be wifes car so i want to make it reliable for her but she likes a lil power to play with (thats why i love her lol) so ya swap to a 4age or replace the 7afe with some after market parts and 2.5 in piping from the header back, SIR, pistons cams, get the crank balanced and stiffer springs and maybe a few other things. would it be cheaper to just swap the 4age and replace all the gaskets and drop it in or rebuild the 7afe?

A 4age isn't going to simply plug and play. It's a full swap with wiring and plumbing... If you can do that... go for it. If not... don't.
That said... the bigport 4AGE isn't much better stock for stock than a 7AFE. The smallport is better, but isn't worthwhile enough... the 20V and/or the 4AGZE are the only ones worth doing... -------------------- "It's ok to be naked girl... I'm an artist!"
