as of 0346 this morning i have entered the second phase of the wonderful journey called life. i decided long ago the middle-age would be 45 for me. i said goodbye to that youthful age yesterday. i did not wake up wiser today, nor did i wake up feeling older. i did wake up listening to my thoughts a little closer. though i've accomplished many things already, i realize i still have a whole life's worth of living to do. without hopefully sounding too much like the wise man on the mountain, i would like to share a few thoughts with you:
be courteous to others. charity begins at home. ask for help. share knowledge. be kind to yourself. thank you all for being informative, supportive and entertaining. i have learned a lot about my car, myself and how others, like yourselves, live your lives in today's crazy world. -------------------- |

But better kick it up to 400whp so he can feel the wind wizzin threw the remainder of his hair (Sounds like my general plan when i hit the benchmark ) Then take it to the track and embarrass the hell outta all the big schett wannabe kids! Show em we still got fight!! -------------------- QUOTE (presure2 @ Nov 6, 2010 - 6:16 AM) Via FB: fcuking awsome!!! D-man FTW! Damn D-Man - most impressive. Happy B-Day! And no one on here is too old to own a Celica. Even though us in our 30s and older do often feel old on this site. Thanks for the advice too.

Show em we still got fight!! D-Man...grub and grog were great!! thanks for having that one for me all the way down in Texas. It went well with the Roadkill Chili and cornbread i had at the Barnyard BBQ. They also have these crazy beers called things like Pail Ale and Muddy River Stout. My favourite is the Fire Chief Red Ale a.k.a. Gallagher Red in reference to a fire chief in the 70s that went on an arson rampage to help some of his friends collect insurance money...Beer and history all in the same glass, wonderful!!! as for Lagos' post...hair, what hair. started loosing it when i was 20. doesn't bother me though, never did, never will. a man is not defined by his looks, only his heart matters. 400whp sounds scary to me. i would rather learn how to drive than have way too much power. i often embarrasss the sais schett kids by simply driving better than them. anyone can go fast, not everyone can merge, change lanes, find a shortcut or run a yellow with spirit while remaining in the "safe zone". Thanks for the advice too. never too old for some things, right? . my Celica is my youth pill. right now i'm in withdrawl mode. we had a long, hard winter (compared to the last few) and i litterally got the DTs when i would look outside and see my car locked in a snowbank. -------------------- |

Hehe my dad taught me that when i first started driving, drive with determination, courage, and faith--no fear.
Kept me out of trouble, accidents and stupid stuff, and with all the let's call it "defensive driving" that i do. It quickened and heightened my awareness and reflexes. I did however get into one accident though--mainly thorugh my stupidity and hence, TOO MUCH belief in my driving skills that I was way over my head. Thus, leading to my celica! My theory, "They say, 'better safe than sorry,' but in driving terms, "you drive safe, than you sorry". Because, in my perspective, i've seen way too many people driving safe but end up getting in accidents (not always caused by them but by the other drivers) PEOPLE don't drive with this theory or drive w/o care, its just how I drive, i'm not trying to be provocative to those and start driving like a maniac, please drive safe guys.
