I'm in the process of doing this swap, and have run into trouble with the engine mounts. Now i realize that this swap is only bolt in for the 2.2 powered Celicas. What can i do to regulate this problem? Use 2.2 mounts? Custom mounts?

thanks

3sgte -> 7afe?? or the other way around.... tongue.gif

yup mounting will be a problem, talk to some people from celica.net. there are a few who have done it from ST's. it is a lot more work than the 4age, which allegedly falls right in.

I could be wrong, but I thought the 3S-GTE mounted to our ST's alot easier than to GT's.

No its a whole lot easier for the gt guys to just drop in the 3s. The reasons why this is that there ac unit and some other stuff fit. If we st guys were gona do it we have to get either the gt tranny and axles or we could use the MR2 turbo tranny and get custom axles made. Also we have to get some parts from a gt if we want a/c and what not. If you want a good idea of how much your gona spend on the 3s swap if you have a st check out Top Shelf Racing its got the comeplete list of what you would need and prices.

Also, the 5S-FE and the 3S-GTE can use the same engine mounts, because they're both s-series engines. The 7A-FE is an a-series engine, so it'd require new motor mounts to drop in a 3S-GTE.
