I've been to the track and seen stock 5s and 5s with bolt-ons.....stock tends to run between 17s and high 16s.....bolt-on tends to run 16s and high 15s....correct me if I'm wrong, but I've never seen a 6gc GT run 15.5 or even close to low 15s up close and personal.
I've posted a link in Minnesota's Meet thread with a red GT running at Rockfalls beginning of 2007....fyi he had almost all bolt-ons. http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseacti...eoid=2023291992 This post has been edited by ZGear: Mar 30, 2008 - 11:07 PM -------------------- |

This should be interesting. Do people really buy Celica's for quarter mile runs? Seems like one of the very worst cars you could imagine, no hp or tq. I got mine cause I wanted a light car that handled well, got good gas mileage and was sporty enough. Would be bottom of my list for quarter mile car though.

QUOTE(95celgt @ Mar 31, 2008 - 12:06 AM) 16.9 @ 79.9 ST 7AFE Thats what I have, 17 seconds? ouch. I could probably ride my bicycle faster than that thru the quarter mile haha Cali: yea, I know there are examples of fast Celica's but cmon. If I wanted straight line speed, I would have bought another 5.0 or LS1 and spent a few hundred in bolt ons to run in the 13s. Will probably cost me $10k to get my ST running 13s haha. |

I would assume a stage 3 clutch kit + short-shift upgrades really does a whole lot to our celi's then because I've beaten an h22a swapped accord and sentra se-r's before. And did a couple of integra ls's and gs's.
But then again, i've worked a lot on my launches and racing off the line a lot in general but i'm on my crappy all-seasonal 195 tires right now... Man, i wonder how different it must feel if i were to regrind my camshafts to 294 and have that constant flow of power in my crappy dragging 3rd gear... i have seem a standard st205 gt4 hit a quarter in less than 14, 13.9 i beleive, and ive seen one with minimum mods, exhaust and filter hit quarter in 13.2 at santapod.
ive never run before properly but spanked my mates skyline who consistantly ran 13.7's at santapod. would imagine mid-high 12's for mine. but im not willing to kill the clutch, its a track car. -------------------- 1994 ST-205 JDM GTFour... fmic conversion finshed, project GT500 is underway
