does anyone have detailed instructions on how to install the koni yellows? I know you have to weld them in the back, or at least I'm pretty sure you do, but I found someone willing to help me with it, I just need to know exactly how to do it .... then maybe I'll finally have some, so I can put my coilovers back on! yea! lol

haven't done mine yet so I don't know the specifics, but from what I have heard the process is fairly simple.
1) remove strut from car 2) cut open strut housing 3) insert Koni cartridge 4) weld strut shut 5) repeat on other side like I said, not all that complicated, but VERY labor intensive |

what do you mean by labor intensive, if you say it's a fairly simple process?

The principal is an easy process but in reality...
It's labour intensive from the point of view of having to cut open the strut housing and then weld it up afterwards. I personally am not competent to do this, welding is not my forte so I'll have to have a shop do it. |

When people say Konis they're referring to Koni Yellow Shocks, which are high performance, five-position-adjustable shocks for your Celica. They're the best shocks that you can buy for your car, unless you buy a full coilover setup such as the JIC-Magic full coilovers, which cost around $1500. ok thanks that's what I thought but I wasn't sure. What's the difference in ride quality and handling. I have the TRD springs already so what improvement would I get?

I've installed a set on my G Stock 94 Celica ST. I used a milwaukee sawzall to cut the top of the strut off...drained guts, drilled hole in bottom of strut for bolt to hold insert into the housing.
It took about 3 hours labor to do both front and rear....pretty standard for something like this. Per http://www.grassrootsmotorsports.com |
