no engine swap a simple swap, it always takes time also you need a new tranny with that too....
tigerjapanese.com that's a pretty good site, but you still need the wiring... |

yeah... i was thinking about doing this swap, i thought it was a simple swap too, but i found out otherwise, all the wiring is different, your A/C lines dont hook up, you need to re-do all your wiring pretty much... if you still want to do it, i have a 93 gts with a 5sfe and tranny runs and drives great, but i dont suggest swapping to a 5sfe

its actually not that hard. you'll need : from a GT or 5SFE with transmission....ECU,Engine Harness,Power steering lines, axles, shift linkage. if i think of some other parts i'll let you know.....simply unlug the ecu. the thru way is top left of engine bay. pull the wire back through to the motor. the motor will come out with all wires, pwr str.excc.... attached....the rear motor mount is in a crap spot. but with the right tools it wasn't hard. the power steering line is different, the one that attaches to the pump. different bend at the end. and you will need a 5SFE radiator, a/c condensor and lines. the left motor mount is the only one that bolts differently. i welded mine to the engine bay. but you can see where the bolt would go for a GT. has an indentation like a covered hole. you could drill and tap it. thats just off the top of my head. i did it in mine. and it was SOOO worth it. i have a 25th anniversary. it was nice being rare. but not slow. i'm def happy with it now. let me know if you decide to go head with it. i can guide you through. i baught a whole other celica and swapped mine out. so i had all the parts readily available. i also got the bigger front brakes and rear disc!
