Hey all, like the title says whats the average time it took you guys to remove the 5sfe from the bay and to reinstall it back ?? The reason I'm asking is because I plan on respraying my car a different color if it doesn't take too long I might consider. Thanks

depends on your tools and your garage. typical garage with an engine lift.....i'd say 3-4 hours for removal with labeling and everything.....30 mins is way out of exaggeration. i don't even think a toyota mechanic could do it by then. removal is much easier than install. make sure you bag everything by section.

ummmmm..... just disconnect from the ecu behind center console. pull wire thru. disconnect your grounds. put your hoist on your motor. unbolt motor mounts. you should have it out in less than an hour by yourself. Everything you unplug only plugs back into one place. if you're hands on. its easy. i have a pretty good photographic memory. if you do as well. you don't need labels. cuz there isn't much to do. took me less than 2 hours to put it in by myself and make it run. thats including beer n cigarette breaks lol. i can't believe how easy these are to do. especially after doing honda motor swaps for awhile. i won't ever go back to honda since i've owned my Celica.... i also have a V6 5 Spd Camry. If something ever happens to it. I'm throwing that in the celica. but don't be afraid to take it out. its a piece of cake.

it all depends on how good you are, and how well you know where everything connects, there are a few vacume lines that can cause much frustration if you dont konw exactly how to get to them, and the pinch clamps can be a huge pain without the right tools. 3-4 hours for someone who knows what there doing, 4-8 for someone who does not but has a good idea, 8-never for someone with no exsperiance. lable well, and if your really want, take a lot of high res pics of the motor and bay before removal so you have something to look at when you get confused.

honestly it all depends on if you have the right tools, how skilled you are, AND how much you know about your car.
