I had an old aftermarket cd-player in my car till last week when I bought a different one. My in-dash wiring for the cd-player wasnt in harness just loose wires connected to the old cd-players wires (obviously electric taped too). So I removed all the wires for the old cd-player and took it out and tried to connect the new deck to the car but something is wrong. The power line is supposed to be the ' blue with yellow stripe' and connect it to the red wire of the cd-player. But it doesnt work for some reason, I connected the ground wire of the dash to the cd-player's and then connected the battery wire then the accessory wire but nothing. The new cd-player wont start, which is weird cuz earlier that day I took this deck off someone else's car and it was working perfectly. Is it the 'blue with yellow stripe' the power line and the grey wire the accessory wire? Anyone been in this situation. Plus i did read the pdf file in the sticky about doing this but still not sure whats wrong. Anyone know plz help. thanks
btw. its a sony xplod cd deck

According to my notes from when I did this (yay for being a packrat, had it right next to me :S ) the blue w/ yellow stripe is the +12v battery wire and should be connected to the yellow wire on the aftermarket, whilst the aftermarket stereo's red wire should be connected to the toyota wiring's grey wire, which is the +12v ignition line. Worked for mine (Pioneer) so unless your stereo has some nutso wiring it should work for yours too.

No responsibility taken for things exploding blah blah blah own experience blah blah

Yea i figured everything out now only problem is I dont know where the accessory wire is to wire the red wire from the cd-player to. Is it the thin little grey wire, cuz thats the only grey wire there is.
