Hello all,

I am a owner of several Toyota's. My newest project is to refurb this old 87 Celica GTS. All original, the interior is perfect.. Used to have a 3SGE motor that I pulled because it had thrown a rod through the block. Needs quite a bit of body work, rust you know. I was looking for body kit but they seem few and far between. I am looking to install a 2nd Gen 3SGTE into it. I thought this forum may be the place to get some questions answered..

Will a 3SGTE bolt into the GTS? Will the GTS 5 speed bolt up without major modifications? Where is a good place to purchase front clips from 6G Celica?
Know of any site dedicated to the older (87) body style..

check the stickies of the forced induction forum. sadly this should be in the off topic though mainly cuz it for a diff gen celica. also the 3sgte from a 6gc is 3rd gen not 2nd. and yes it should just drop right in. you will need to do some wiring on it though.

No man. You were kool. I appreciate the info you gave. I am fairly new to Celica's.I have several MR2's and have had many Yota 4X4's. The new 87 isn't much to look at yet. Mostly just pieces now. Maybe someday it will be worth taking pictures of. Still go alot of work to do. All the stickers match and the only non-original will be the 2nd or 3rd gen I put into it..

As he already told you it will drop right in. I used to own a '86 GTS that I swapped with a second gen 3S-GTE. Those are great cars but as you say - extremely hard to find decent body parts. I ended up sourcing mostly alltrac body parts for it and painting it flat black- it came out pretty nice.
Sadly I have no pics of her anywhere I can find
