This is actually old news considering I traded my Celica for an 91 MR2 Turbo back in December. I've had it running and driving since March but have been waiting to post it up until I was satisfied with the end result...for now biggrin.gif

The car originally had a JDM 93 3SGTE swapped in but had developed rod knock. I took the ST205 WRC 3SGTE meant for the Celica and put it in the MR2. I did all the wiring (a first for me) and fabrication myself.

Things I've added since owning the MR2: New Rear Ball Joints and LCA bushings, Custom Intake, WTA plumbing and Heat Exchanger w/dual fans, 10" puller fan where stock IC was located, H4 Conversion w/ 8000k HIDs, Non-Air Bag Steering wheel, and lastly an HKS EVC 6.

Enjoy the pix.

The Camry is driven around every so often to keep it good running order. The MR2 is the new DD since it has AC, an essential in FL because its sooo damn hot. Im looking to get another hood for the Camry and leave it stock and maybe custom fit some older Accord side skirts. I've still got plans to move beyond the CT20B but that will have to wait for now.

I guess I got lucky and found a fellow car guy that happened to own the storage facility. He's a cool guy from Detroit and really into all cars. I pay $135 a month for a 12'x25' space with 110 electric that also has limited gate access. Just ask around and tell them what your intentions are first and see what happens.

laugh.gif No, you misunderstood. ONLY $135 a month. I only have 110v electric so no big compressors and such.

Another reason why the owner of the storage facility is cool:

He found these cars in a unit he was cleaning out and gave them to me. How cool and weird is that?

I just have to say I LOVE your taste in fixing up cars. Your red Celica is SUPER GOD DAMN HOT and your MR2 is SUPER GOD DAMN HOT TOO not a tiny bit over done. Keeping it mostly stock on the exterior. Freaking awesome work you've done there on the engine swap.

Thanks for all the compliments smile.gif

I can't take all the credit for the MR2, Kim (91sofla) did a great job with the exterior, I just added my own personal touch. I'd hardly consider it a sleeper tho, too many people know about MR2's and will most likely figure its a turbo with some power rather than just an NA version. Now all I need is some straight rims with tires, fog lights, and a functioning water injection system.

I even have another project car, but this time its a ..... Honda. I picked up an EG Hatch shell for $500 and wanted to give Honda a try. Hopefully no one flames me for that tongue.gif

Colin,

Very nice work! That's a pretty cool setup you did with the twin fans. Where'd you mount that?

It's great to see my old car looking nice and with a new motor. I really enjoyed it over the years. You'll have to let me know if you ever take the car to the track. I'm curious what kind of numbers it would run with the 205 motor.

I have a few minor but cool upgrades in the works for the Celica too. wink.gif

--Kim

ps--I haven't forgot about getting the stuff from you. I'll email you next week.

wanna give me those fenders that are hanging on the wall? biggrin.gif
the MR2 looks good. are you planning on some jdm tails? i've thought about getting one but i just can't justify it. (don't think i could fit my fat @$$ in one either LOL)
i want something RWD though. who know's what the future holds.

Yeah those fenders are pretty much decoration for the "garage" laugh.gif , they are pretty bent up in quite a few areas. If anyone were to use them, I'd only suggest using them as a template for where to cut the sidemarker hole and nothing more. JDM tails with a black center would be nice but is low on the priority list.

I'll be selling some left over parts soon....I even have that hood spoiler you've been looking for Goferris, but I'm selling that and the GT-Four hood to the owner of my old Celica.

Kim - The heat exchanger and dual fans are mounted behind the radiator; it was the only way to get it up front without cutting up the front bumper and losing that valuable thing called AC. Track time will have to wait until I get some straight rims; it vibrates pretty bad past 65mph. Let me know about the parts and fill me in on whats new with the Celica

Celicadude04 - The MR2 is from Hot Wheels while the Celica is from Maisto.

ok. now that's not very nice mad.gif just dangle it in front of me then say it's not for sale!!!!! jk wink.gif
that's too bad about those fenders. i like the look of the jdm repeaters much more than the usdm sidemarkers.
i've thought long and hard about getting a deuce but i don't want to sell the celi. i've even looked at a couple. i knew a guy that turboed his 5sfe deuce and now it runs like 320 hp IIRC. all of the sudden i can't seem to get a hold of him. i could totally use some help in my engine bay.
your old celi was very nicely done. i'm sure the new deuce will follow suit.
are you sure you don't want to sell me the hood spoiler instead?
