you are trying to compare kobe and jordan with needing another player to go to,kobe doesn't need another player he needs a team that will give him the ball and not ask questions

I love how you PRETEND to know what you're talkin about. lol. Every star player needs help to get their team over the hump. Unless Lebron gets any help he's not goin anywhere. Same with Chris Paul. Kobe finally got the help he needed in Gasol. Is it coincidence that the Lakers made it to the finals with Shaq and Kobe? But when Shaq left, they struggled to make it past the first round of the playoffs? then they get somebody like Gasol to help Kobe and they're back in the finals...Put 2 and 2 together.

Sorry, but Odom was Laker's MVP last previous years. Looking back at the win/loss records from previous years, Lakers win more when Kobe's injured than when Odom's injured. He's like the unsung hero, the glue that puts the triangle offense together. Gasol is basically an upgrade of Odom. Seriously, look at the stats, similar numbers across the board. Odom deferred to Gasol, which explains his lower stats this year, but career wise, very same players.

You're right that Gasol was the Lakers MVP this year. But take away those two players, and Lakers are back at square one. One ball hog who believed that his teams success rode on his shoulders each game. I find it illogical when your "best" player needs to play sub-optimally (score less, do less) in order for you team to be at its best. Not saying that they are better without him, but they play better when he does less. Therefore, Kobe isn't the Lakers best player. Take your pick of either two big men (three if you count Bynum).

Anyways...

Celtics in 7!

I'm a Laker fan, so I don't really care about individualism.. Kobe not as great as Chris Paul, not as great as James... it doesn't matter. As long as he is playing great team basketball with his teammates, then I'm happy. I believe a team needs players that click in order to win. Look at the 2004 Lakers, they're the dream team with not only a Big 3, they have like... Big 4, or 5 if you count Fisher. But since they don't click, they couldn't win basketball games, turn overs left and right, they sucked.

Anyway, It'd be great if the Lakers can beat the Celtics, but even if they lose, I'm happy for them to be at least able to get back in the Final stages again.

Go Lakers!

Over the Lakers

up to game 7? where's the confidence? you can't bet on a team if you think its gonna go to 7. its anyone's game if it takes a series of 7. and i'm hoping it will cuz that'd be awesome to watch. but win or lose, lakers always have been and always will be my team.

3-1 lakers.

That was such a foul. Bad call - no ref had the balls to call it with tenths of a second left. thumbsdown.gif

Video of foul with TNT comments: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CRGHFJlJT3U

Whatever...it was a horrible call but the Lakers dominated the Spurs thorughout the playoffs. I highly doubt that, that wouldve changed the outcome of the entire series.

Ok, that is your opinion.

ok

Gm. 1: LAL 89, SAS 85 good close game
Gm. 2: LAL 101, SAS 71 lakers blow out
Gm. 3: SAS 103, LAL 84 spurs blow out
Gm. 4: LAL 93, SAS 91 bs call
Gm. 5: LAL 100, SAS 92 lakers win

Now lets say that the spurs won game 4,then it would be 2-2,a very good series!!!!And obviously the teams were matched fairly well if after the lakers blew out the spurs then the spurs blew out the lakers. That call changed the series..

i hope this goes to a good game 7,there has only been 1 really good game 7 and that was the celticsVScavs. The spurs hornets went into game 7 but i don't think it was a nail biter.CELTICS IN 7(i got it now cama thx lol)

ok im with shogun here.... you have to be ignorant... Kobe can win a regular season game single handedly, and so could Jordan. NEITHER of them could CONSISTENTLY win on their own in the playoffs. It's just not possible.... Jordan was amazing, Kobe is amazing, Wilt, Kareem, and the list goes on... bottom line, you CANNOT compare these people, different times, different surroundings, different EVERYTHING... Get serious

SINCE THE LAKERS ACQUIRED PAU GASOL THEY'VE ONLY LOST 8 GAMES...ENOUGH SAID. Without Gasol they Lakers wouldve been knocked out in the 1st or 2nd round.

Lakers got spanked. Will they respond? Doubt it. Will head back to LA 0-2. KG's too hungry to let his team lose. Pierce and Allen are playing with desperation to end their careers with a ring. Most of the Lakers are just happy to be in the finals. And Kobe's too busy dreaming about that Finals MVP to play within the triangle.

3 more to go, Celtics in 7!

And the lake show is down a huge player, and they r still gonna win. And they will win again when Bynum is back. its just not the celtics time.

Did you even watch the game? The celtics were down by 5 in the 3rd and ended up winning by 10. Seems to me that they went on a 15 point overturn to the end of the game. Your right, it was close in the Frst half, but after that, the Celtics started playing like they should. And this was also with PJ Brown, Posey, and Cassell playing most of the 3rd and some of the 4th. Now this, is a bad sign for the Lakers. Celtics were in foul trouble for a lot of the game, and the bench came through. I don't see how this is a bad sign for the Celtics. All i know is that the Celtics are up one, and its going to be a long, hard fought series.
