manual says 7a-fe can tow 1500 pounds 5s-fe can tow 2000 pounds.
I think they were available at least in japan there was a thread with unique/wired jdm parts.

http://www.etrailer.com/hitch-1994_Toyota_Celica.htm

I have one similar. I found the paperwork from the previous owner. When he moved out here from North Carolina he pulled a small Uhaul trailer. Not sure how much weight.

I don't think it's that bad of an idea. If I ever need a bike rack I'll get one that goes into the receiver hitch. Less chance of scratching the paint and you can still open the liftback. I wouldn't pull a huge trailer for long distances but from the records I have from the previous owner my car has.

It will be hauling a two wheels trailer about 5 meters long... I want to tow my 6 meter flat-boat from my house to the sea wich is about 1 kilometre long!

By saying you towed another celica you mean using a trailer? And if you did that, can you tell what trailer hitch you have?
