ive got about 500 bucks to spend and im not sure what to buy. i already have a cai, headers, exhaust, short shifter, and new rotors. ive got new struts and springs waiting to go on too. i would like to try to add some power but i dont know what to do. my brother said something about getting new pistons and rods and going high compression but i dont what i would need for that. anyway any ideas would help. thanks!

Hmm, not really much stuff you can get to pump more power on the 5s engine other than getting your camshafts regrinded but you'll need much more than 500 for that...and then there's turbo.
I would advise you to save that 500 for now and spend on something big after, or you could invest in your tranny. A racing clutch upgrade would be a perfect combo with the short-shifter, and then there's also a lighweight flywheel. These will not "add you power" but will give you better times if you were to time yourself and the lighter flywheel will give less rotational mass...in other words giving you more whp but not exactly adding hp.

I think my vote would be to save it or lightweight flywheel/new cluch, how about just general mantinace though, new belts, hoses, fluid, new battery, have parts cleaned such as the intake manifold/throtle body, injectors etc. not gana give you hp gains but gives you a heathy motor ready for bigger mods in the future. when I did my engine swap I got all new belts, gaskets, checked all the connectors, all fluids, new axils, distirbuter, had the intake manifold, valve cover, injectors and throttle body profesionaly cleaned etc. all hopefully adding to the life of the new motor as well as getting it ready for future mods if I go that route.

buy a new camera to take pics of your car!

I would either save up for the cam regrind or add some exterior pieces like side skirts or splitters.
