I just lowered my car today on tanabe df210. 2"F 1.5R. Or so they say. After everything is done and i drop the car off the jack...it looks a bit lower but not really. Only proof to show that its lower now is the wheel gap is gone. But the front, rear bumper dont seem to have dropped much. And when I turn the steering wheel theres this weird clicking sound coming from the springs as if they are popping in and out of the struts. Could it have to do sometihing with this: While the car was in the air and all the springs and strut assembly put back i dropped the car before tightening the strut bolts on the engine bay and the ones in the trunk? Any help is very appreciated. thanks

The popping noise is the springs setteling in. The car not looking lower right off the bat is because again its not setted in yet.

Are the springs & spring seats seated correctly? Have you had camber and tracking checked? Also, the car will "settle" over a couple of weeks after fitting new springs/struts.

Be sure to grease the top hat where it touches the coil.

how can the wheel gap be gone and the bumper not be lower that much. When wheel gap disappears is because the fender lowered and the bumper lowers with the fender. Maybe you need to show pics.

There is an arrow on the strut, this needs to point outwards or the spring will make that popping noise....

Let it settle for a few weeks, then get back to us.

As far as the popping, I agree with manphibian. The arrow needs to point out? Didn't know that. And you're supposed to grease under there?

The arrow was facing outwards so that cant be it, also today I just noticed a sqeaking/rubbing sound coming from the passenger side rear springs, whenever you drive slow.

Hey your car will drop some more once the springs set in place. the clicking sound could be the c.v joints when you turn.

The seat -- and the spring in it -- can easily become misaligned when you manuever the strut into position, and most particularly when you torque down the strut rod bolt. If the spring is not seated properly with the insulator and the spring seat matching, clicking or popping is to be expected.

I get that all the time, I just gave up. Especially since I had to keep redoing it for 2 spring sets.

Three immediate possibilities: stuck caliper, unbalanced/unevenly worn tire, or your alignment place didn't do a test drive.

Given you paid for the alignment, I assume, I'd take it back there and ask why you paid them to make your car drive straight when it doesn't. Make them diagnose it.
