Just had a quick question... are 240/17 tires too wide? Will it rub against the well or inner fender?

235/40-17 is the limit depending on the brand of tires

I just picked up a set of used tires/rims but one tire needed to be replaced. The tires on the 3 rims are General Exclaim 205/40-R17 84W. The tire shop didnt have General Exclaims so i got Nexens instead, problem is I didnt pay attention to the exact size and got 205/40-R17 84W XL. So my question is, does having one tire being from a different brand and being 84W XL instead of just 84W make a difference? Or should I go and try to find exact ones? thanks

Just had a quick question... are 240/17 tires too wide? Will it rub against the well or inner fender? depends on the ET of the rim. Im running currently on 245/35-17 and no rubbing. -------------------- |
