not sure what 202's and 203's are like for under bonnet temps but the 205's are fierce warm and any filter outside of its housing is going to cause heat soak, my filter is rehoused in front of the splash guard on the passenger side (UK Car) in a cold air box, so i'm minimalising the heat soak and power loss by doing so, and because my car means the world to me i'm not going to put on any cheap tack because it looks the part, all the parts i put on the faff are there to serve a purpose (either to enhance performance or safe guard from malfunction). I've seen pics of cheap panel filters costing buttons and guys putting them into standard airboxes and eventually over time the filter breaking up and it being sucked into the intake or in the pics i seen into the turbo compressor housing and it wasn't a pretty sight......... another little saying for you the cheapest is the dearest and the dearest the cheapest, if you can see where i'm coming from

Legit - if you can do something to accommodate the hose that comes off beneath the valve cover to the intake, I have an intake you can have for cheap. I have a cone filter too. Neither is used.

If you just want a SRI that will work fine, wont be much different than having it a pod on the standard hosing but it looks much nicer, also I think these ebay intake sellers make most of the money on postage because some of the stuff is fairly good quality. but you may want to change the filter on the end of it, again probably wont notice a difference with brand name ones.

I am kinda planning trying to do something like that when i get my 3's swap done, so maybe i should just wait it out -------------------- 1 JL 1,000/1v2

look at your pm i bought an ebay intake. it's not the best, but it works. i wanna make a heat shield for it. i put a k&n on it too. but really cold air intakes and parts in general are over priced, it's all about the brand name. -------------------- |

Honestly if you just want an intake, its ok for that price only. An intake is an intake technically there is nothing technologically advanced about a pipe. You can get generic piping like on ebay and just buy a good branded filter. I'm a brand name type of guy but for intakes, not really, although I do have a full injen pipe and filter which I changed my filter to Fujita.

x2 ^
(IMHO) It's a freakin pipe w/ a filter on the end. You wanna make it better? Wrap it up (to avoid heat soak) and upgrade the filter. You can spend $20 or $200; but you'll still get a pipe w/ a filter. A lot of people will argue with me, and i'm sure someone is going to come along in a minitue and say that having some fancy brand name painted on the outside of the pipe increases performance by 12hp And they'll be full of it And on that note, you do know that' this is just a cosmetic enhancement; there will be no noticeable power gains to be had. -------------------- QUOTE (presure2 @ Nov 6, 2010 - 6:16 AM) Via FB: fcuking awsome!!! I bought a CAI for 80$ on ebay, not a short ram like you want.
I dont really see a difference performance-wise but it does sound like a beast under the hood. Enough to scare them civics lol -------------------- |

Very true, i think i am just going to buy a cheap one for now, replace the filter in a little bit then re-route everything when i do my swap... Especially since i will probablly buy a junker to use for my swap and keep my current car as my DD... Thanks for everyone's input:) I love this community -------------------- 1 JL 1,000/1v2
