Will 5th gen springs work on a 6th gen? Long story short, I can get a good deal on some ground controls that this guy had on his 5th gen, and they should be the same right? On most sites I see for springs, it always says 90-99.

Yeah, I believe 5th and 6th are interchangeable as long as it's FWD and not AWD

Now what about the ground control springs? They look like different sizes compared to the 6th gen springs:
These are the ones in question. This post has been edited by GotToyota: Jun 23, 2008 - 1:28 PM |

I'm not sure about the answer to this - these are coil-overs, right? That's different than regular springs, isn't it?
Maybe research part numbers and see if they come up the same? -------------------- |

Also, are there any other parts that can be used interchangeably between the two generations? Here in Canada, 5th generations are fairly cheap and common whereas 6th generation are very rare and generally expensive. Thanks. Any light shed on this would be greatly appreciated. |

Yeah, I actually don't know off hand about the shocks, I just know that the springs are interchangable between generations. Try a parts search for shocks on like tirerack.com or something, then plug in the same search for a 5th gen and see if it returns the same part number
