i got a 2.0l GT ST202 (3SGE Engine) import it shold be about 170-180 bhp but it seems slow my old fto seemed alot faster ive had a new custom backbox and pipe fitted and HKS air filter too
was just wondering if anyone had any ideas ??????? many thanx for your time -------------------- |

The Toyota engines rev pretty high. Take it onto an open road, keep it in second or thrid and floor it. Past 4500 revs you should feel the car suddenly pick up. -------------------- Davey

It could be an SS-I (140HP 3S-FE) since you say it's an import. I've had one of those, Mind you I test drove a 1994 SS-II (Also 3S-GE) and it was just as slow as an SS-I because it was over 180,000 KMS ODOMETER with the exception of another 1,000 RPM, power plateaued. On my same 3S-GE with only 75,000 KMS ODOMETER the power does not plateau it simply lunges forward from 6,000 to 7,000 RPM as though the pedal was suddenly floored further. I'd say a 3S-GE in good condition should be just as fast as other 2 litre NA coupes. Just to make sure why don't you grab the model number (On the aluminum plate on the firewall, looks like E-ST20X-XXXXX) and take a photo of your engine.
